I disagree, many teams be lining up for a 100 point Marnerif the leafs get eliminated Marner can forget about a monster contract.

Jeff Skinner: 0 goal allowed in 127 minutes
I'm expecting the Leafs to give him his big contract to keep him.if the leafs get eliminated Marner can forget about a monster contract.
If Make Beliefs lose this series - Shana-plan will not be resigned & a new Pres will be brought in … Marner’s not going to resign after knowing the org was ready to deal himI'm expecting the Leafs to give him his big contract to keep him.![]()
Yes he did. He simply didn’t have the teams those other two did. Swap the clubs and Proce has multiple cups with them having none.I don't see Price as a money goalie. He was always good because that's what he was, but he never played red hot like Roy in 93' or Dryden in 71'.
That’s because you aren’t taking into account the teams he was on. At the Olympics he had a .970 save percentage. He was our best player by far.Price was elite, but I saw him more like a Brodeur in the playoffs.
Imagine the physical aspects of a Tom Wilson and combine it with great offensive and defensive play. Pronger was an absolute beast.Pretty random but I googled him and the rabbit hole came up with this Pronger interview that was a surprisingly enjoyable read. Looks like he’s a huge nerd, for hockey player standards at least.
The Oilers final run is one of my fondest hockey memories. I watched every game. Pronger was absolutely brilliant.
Post posted on 1:25 AMWrong Skinner, but you're correct in the sense that he isn't playing so wasn't responsible for any goals.

Not only that but he was more consistent in the playoffs than Roy was.

He came within a game 7 OT goal of beating the eventual cup champs in 2011.
Huge upset against Boston in 2014.
Huge upset against the Pens in 2020.
Huge upsets against Toronto and Vegas in 2021.
And he did it with crap teams. Dryden upset some incredible teams but Roy never had an upset series win for us his entire time here.
Brodeur and Roy played behind some of the best defensive teams ever assembled. Price had garbage in front of him.
I love Chris Pronger. Totally agree that he’s exactly the kind of player you want in a postseason. But Carey Price was a series stealer. If he’d had even an average team we’d have won at least one cup.
Could Matthews be a good option as our 2nd line center?
Sorry if this was posted, but I just saw this:

Dallas Edmonton in the conference final is going to be epic. I hope one of them win the cup.OILERS LAST 9 PLAYOFFS GAMES: 8-1
Even in 09 after fans jeered Price and it was clear that team just didn't have it, I don't recall jerseys being thrown or people leaving.Bahaha what a fantastic night of hockey , leafs fans emptying the building out at the start of the third period is amazing
Dude those price teams were dog meat , we would 100% boo the living hell out of Matthews and Marner . In Montreal???? these guys would NOT have survived this long togetherEven in 09 after fans jeered Price and it was clear that team just didn't have it, I don't recall jerseys being thrown or people leaving.
This is a pretty interesting angle that fits with Gortons comment the other day about play driving wingers... I also remember Hughes saying at the TDL conference that they were talking to teams about players who didn't seem available...If Make Beliefs lose this series - Shana-plan will not be resigned & a new Pres will be brought in … Marner’s not going to resign after knowing the org was ready to deal him
NYR will sign Marner & deal Panarin (last yr of contract)
I can see HuGo going after Panarin
