HF Habs: Out of Town Thread: 2025 Playoff edition

Oilers dispose of Vegas. That kind of seemed inevitable as you watched it.

I think leafs will respond in game 6 and come out with a big game. Its going 7 and it should be fascinating to see how it goes.

It shouldn't have been this hard against this high mileage Florida team... but that's Toronto for you.

They’ll never say it on the mains but the Leafs fans are absolutely cooking Matthews on their board

Oilers fans were pretty shy on the main board tonight... not a lot of talking!

Vegas had nothing up front. Eichel's face was so red at the end of the game, he looked like he was about to drop dead. He played more than any defencemen. Wonder what they'll do next.

It's so easy to see that the way taranna built their team is the wrong way to go. Really happy to know that our management team is good enough to see it

Remember the time when Price saved Suzuki's life from getting the puck in the head when he made an absolutely fantastic save, while Nick was protecting what was pretty much an empty net? I think it was against Philly.

Yeah, Carey was something else. We had some very poorly constructed teams and he still gave us a chance.

I don't see Price as a money goalie. He was always good because that's what he was, but he never played red hot like Roy in 93' or Dryden in 71'.

Price was elite, but I saw him more like a Brodeur in the playoffs.
Look at the number of hall of famers Dryden and Roy played with. Price had Shea Weber for a couple of playoff runs but nothing else. Dryden said something years ago that really stuck with me and that was “I was a good goalie that played on great teams and Price is a great goalie that plays on good teams.” He was being generous with the “good teams” part as half of his career, you couldn’t even call the teams Price played for good. They were average to flat out bad.

Could have been so bad.

Price was so good he could obtain the win if you gave him 3 goals per game. It rarely happened, unfortunately. Desharnais, Pleky and Danault couldnt get it done.

Yeah that was some superhero type of shit. Price in his older vet years had that aura.
