HF Habs: Out of Town Thread: 2025 Playoff edition

Nylander is the best player but impressive performances from Domi and Pacioretty.

Marner and Matthews ghosts as usual.
The stats would suggest otherwise. Marner with 10 points in 8 games and game winner last night. Matthews with 8 points in 8 games. And Matthews has been the best 200 foot player so far in both series. He has been an animal in every game. Just saying.

Leafs will win the cup this year. They seem different
In NHL 25. You mean.

In the last 2 games alone, he missed an empty net twice to ice the game. For a goal scorer like him, this is unacceptable.
With 2 min left, soft and failed to clear which gave Florida a grade A chance to tie the game.

Just some examples... dude is soft.

These playoffs just seem boring without the habs.
I'm boredou a lil bit. Of course, no Habs, no Party.

But at the same time I'm not stressedou and I'm entertainedou. Especially with the Canadians teams. With the Oilers. With the Jets. And with the Leafs.

Dubas did the same thing in Toronto when he let Hyman walk & traded Kadri. He's not a good GM.

His problems in Toronto: goaltending & D. His problems in Pittsburgh: goaltending & D.

Toronto fixed both as soon as he left. He doesn't know how to build a team.

This isn't true IMO.

Did Dubas have blunders? Absolutely, but every GM does.

Kadri being the biggest blunder for sure, but guys like Hyman would have re-signed had the cap not been flat.

He also didn't leave the team with any anchor contracts and left them with some great pieces(Knies, Woll, McCabe, Tavares).

Even in Toronto, he improved the D a ton, (Muzzin, Brodie, McCabe, Giordano, Schenn) all great adds at the time.

You are right about goaltending.

All in all, he couldn't get it done, and a new GM is here to try changing that, but he could have left the team in a much worse spot.
