I'd still take him back in the bottom six for a season.

Well the NHLe on Skinner/Picard points is like 0.2 or so, so it's really just 1-2 points.

Well he's been great in 3/4 playoff series for the Kings. He's not being asked to be a pure shutdown defensive player there which is why his defensive game isn't as good. It makes a huge difference.

Soft for sure, but I don't think he's particularly lazy...

After watching him talk over the year, I think the main issue is that he really isn't very bright/sharp.

If I'm the Oilers, I'd be trading him for the best futures (draft capital/prospect) or RFA talent offer I can drum up. Some GM will pay a huge premium, and they'd be better off than if they give him the raise his #'s will warrant.
