I think it was easier to root for Boston last year against the Leafs than for Ottawa

Goes to show how the rivalry between Montreal and the Bruins has cooled-off since the years of Subban and the early 2000s.

Sad what time, and the Canadiens being irrelevant for a while, did to one of the most-storied rivalries in Hockey.

But being the old man that I am, I personally still think the Bruins are a lot more hateable than any team in the league.

Agreed. I’m a gen-x and I remember those wars between Montreal and Boston.

Marchsnd being traded was literally the last remnants of that rival Bruins team leaving. And now that they're buns, I don't see the rivalry and the hate that comes with it coming up anytime soon. That team is gonna have to do a full on rebuild which will probably take 5+ years

That's true, but also, players on Boston's roster are boring nowadays, except Marchand of course when he was still there. This was never happening before, they always had hateable players, such as Chara, Marchant, Lucic, etc and the list goes on.
