I really feel that Edmonton could have won the cup in 23 and 24 with just an average starter. This offseason getting pantsed with not one but two offersheets on their only young valuable assets, not getting a real goalie, it just makes me sick.

Draisaitl this year has been a complete beast. Not just offensively, but he's turned up his game in all zones. Like you and @Frank Drebin said, McDavid (and Drai) have been cursed with the worst management in hockey. The cup was theirs with only an average management group. They also made a big mistake trying to accelerate the rebuild after drafting McDavid.
