HF Habs: Out of Town Thread: 2025 Playoff edition

Missed the first and second, but I see three Buium shifts and he got schooled in all of them.
It’s a tough gig for a rookie. Hope he shakes it off. That said, I’m so glad the chattering voices were wrong and Buium didn’t end up a Hab.

You don't HAVE to fight after big hits but sometimes a facewash is enough, just show you care get in their faces.

The Sens did nothing and got scored on 3 shifts later. The group is not tight they lack a team spirit.

Michkov had an interview with former NHLer Nikita Filatov and former international footballer Andrey Arshavin -- in Part 2 of the clip he praises Lane Hutson in it big time and suggests Hutson is a Calder favourite. Michkov himself comes across as driven and clear-headed and had praise for Torts.

I know some players had issues with torts, but most seem to respect him and understand while he is a hard ass, he rewards you if you put the work in.

Getting yelled at for getting things wrong/making mistakes will surely grind a player's patience down -- because ultimately, every player is a professional athlete who has been playing the sport all his life, he doesn't need to be yelled at all the time to perform -- and eventually wear out but the fact is Torts isn't a irrational bully, he just doesn't have another way to coax performance out of players. It works until it doesn't.

Michkov comes across as a genuinely cool customer in it. I hope his swagger/ego carries him to newer highs year on year, the league could use a player like him.

So... is it leafs that are that good or sens that are THAT bad? I mean Ullmark let 6 goals on what... 20 shots? They never looked like there were in the game at all..

Gotta admit though... with berube, leafs look like a legit playoffs team. I think they go far this season.

It's both. Wouldn't surprise me to see the Leafs win it this year.

If they play like they did last night, only the West will beat them.. but consistency is the hardest to achieve in playoffs.. every series has it, Ottawa will adjust.
I personally have Tampa winning the cup. Kucherov/Guentzel/Point/Hagel is just absurd and Cirelli/Paul/Gourde/Bjorkstrand are great depth pieces. No McDonagh last year was a big loss for them and he's back now. Hedman/McDonagh/Cernak are a pain in the ass to get through. Oh and they got the 2nd best goalie in the league this year.

And they have arguably the best goalie of this era.

It'd surprise me.. don't let game 1 against a foolish Ottawa team fool anyone. They still have cheap tent folders and Stolarz was bleeding rebounds and is not that good of a goalie. When they have to play a series against an actual good opponent, those cracks will show and be exploited.
