HF Habs: Out of Town Thread: 2025 Playoff edition

That Dallas comeback is just hilarity. That dumb Rantanen trade biting them back in the ass is peak cinema. I also love how Avs fans who defended Drouin are now understanding this guy is just gutless and useless fodder. The only thing though is that I don't like Dallas passing through. They seem too strong for Edmonton this year. That said, if they do reach the finals, I wouldn't mind them winning the cup. Jim Nill would deserve it after the masterclass of a job he's done.

I just ventured over to the Stars GDT and they only have 18 pages for a Game 7 and a massive win like this!! We probably had more than that many pages in the Out of Town thread during that game tonight.
They’ve got so much to choose from over there, pro and amateur events, it’s ridiculous.

I still can’t explain how @Tyson is following NHL games as closely with all he has access to. The guy is spoiled rotten!

Sakic was one of the worst managers in the league before 2017-2018 when MacKinnon caught lightning in a bottle.
And that was a Patrick Roy recommendation to boot.

However, the Avs did get the upper hand in their Hughes deals. Our guy needs to be sharper.

Jim Nill had a lot of hype going to Dallas and he delivered. He was Ken Holland's right hand man, and a lot of people said he was the mastermind behind the Wings' golden age.

but he did an amazing job after that and was instrumental in building that Championship team. Stealing Nischushkin from the Stars and Lehkonen from the Habs among his great trades. He also snatched Devon Toews from the NYI and stole Nazem Kadri for free from the Leafs in an amazing lopsided trade.
I don't know what are you insinuating here.

And Colorado's current GM is Chris MacFarland... Sakic is now the president I think...

From 2018 to 2024, Sakic was among the best GM in the league, at least top 3 easily.

Yeah. They need to get the memo. Outside of the top 10, Colorado can't draft.

I'm also puzzled at Makars showing the last two playoffs. He's way better than that.
Makar is easily the most overrated player in the NHL

Same way Auston Matthews is because, surprise surprise, you can't score easy PP points in the playoffs as opposed to 30-win teams.

Avalanche fans sure liked to remind us of that with the Lehkonen trade. Really unfortunate how last night played out for them.
