HF Habs: Out of Town Thread: 2025 Playoff edition

Meh but getting a game 7 ain't so bad I guess.

The Leafs played a great road game to keep their season alive and you just knew Matthews was finally gonna score one tonight after all that negative press the past few days but really Bob should've stopped that shot.

Florida played like they thought the Leafs were just gonna roll over and die but nope. That Florida offense lacked any urgency, especially their PP which was completely atrocious tonight.

If Florida plays with such a lack of urgency again in game 7 the Leafs will win that game 7 and move on to the conference finals so Florida had better smarten the **** up if they want to go for the repeat.

As soon as Carolina won their series, I think they punched their ticket to the finals. The Panthers have mileage issues, and if it wasn't for the leafs being leafs, the Panthers would already be out.

We did Pacioretty dirty. He was a good player in Vegas in the twilight of his career when he had a decent center.

No disrespect to le P'tit David but he never had a good center here. The criticism was unjustified.

Good for him for being the Leafs real leader.

Pacioretty had some troubles in the playoffs but scoring big goals was somthing he did a few times during his time here, and he's continued that in the 2 rounds so far.

Dunno how to feel about Pacioretty leading Leafs to final 4.

Honestly I'm glad he gets a shot not being the only source of offense for once.

It was a 1 player witch hunt. I blame Bergevin for not surrounding him properly. He was never meant to be the main character but he was a really good supporting cast player.

His legacy would have been completely different if he had a real #1 center. He looked good in Vegas when given the opportunity.

It was his last playoffs with the Habs where he looked really bad. Radulov outscored and outplayed him. Habs lost a very frustrating series to the Rangers, scoring basically no goals.

He didn’t work well with Plekanec either. Both were Hustle players who couldn’t make plays without brute-forcing efforts. This is why DD was good for him, DD had flair and a soft touch (pretty bad everything else).

One could imagine how good a prime Pacioretty would look with a talented playmaker.

I wanted him early in the summer too, as a depth player and a character guy. Happy he has his career back, hope the upcoming loss doesn’t crush him.

Criticizing Pacioretty is silly. Like Koivu he was playing a role that was over his head. In his prime he should be your 3rd best forward on a championship team, especially good at scoring even-strength goals.
