A 40 goal scorer is not a pure goal scorer? By that standard Ovechkin is the only pure goal scorer in the league?

He has traits beyond goal scoring, but his goal scoring ability is overstated is my point.

A pure goal scorer to me is someone who has many more goals than assists and/or is a one-trick pony, like Brandon Pirri.

Carolina is opening some eyes for sure. They are so well coached and give teams so little time and space. Could it be their year?

Washington were pretenders imo. Cup winner will be out of the West if it's not Carolina or Florida.

I wish Monty would have been healthy, the series would have gone longer than 5 games.

Anyone who knows drafting a forward from the USHL/NCAA is much more prudent and wise than drafting a defenseman from the QMJHL.

Carolina exposing Washington as expected. Size is not everything, you need talent. Hopefully people can now calm down a bit with the whole size thing. You don't go draft a player just because of size.

Their D is pretty insane even when you discount their ages too. When Gostisbehere, Nikishin and Burns are your "worst" D that's crazy.

Nikishin has such promising upside.

Ovechkin's playoff numbers are pretty good though. He takes a bit of a dip vs regular season but still good numbers. He averages around 40 goals per 82 and close to a point per game. If Washington isn't advancing, it's not because of OV.
