It's probably be a controversial take but i think Nylander has been their best player in playoffs the last few season.

BYW I'm looking at the schedule for tonight and i'm wondering if Utah is a hockey club? I'm confused it's not clear.
He certainly has been their most consistent IMO.

Mattias Maccelli is soooo good
Picked up on his smarts at the WJHC shit wasn't happening for Finland unless he was involved.
Nobody was really talking about him at the time.

I don't think it's controversial at all. If their core guys perform the way Nylander does in the playoffs, they wouldn't still be stuck at the start line.

Signing a 28 yo forward that never reached 30 pts to a 6 years contract is the most Bergevinesque move a GM could do. I don't understand.
Lots of holes in that lineup. Also he was on pace for more than that last year, 25 in 57. 2.5M isn’t going to hurt you much, as long as you don’t do it to your whole bottom 6 but I am pretty sure Colorado mostly play 9 forwards.

I mean it seems worst than it is, 2.5M is not that big anymore but with Wood signed long term too. Might hurt them
He is apparently their best defensive forward so if he doesn't throw his body around with abandon he should be good for the length of the contract. And if he can put up 35-40 pts along with that he will be worth it.

He is a really good player, one of the best bottom 6 forwards in the league. Contending teams have players like Logan O'Connor whereas teams like the Habs have not synchrony on their bottom 2 lines which thankfully is being addressed.

He's great, but 11 is way too steep considering he's the king of secondary assists, leeching off McDrai, and isn't great defensively.
Bouchard benefits from playing with those two but if you've watched him play leeching isn't the right term. Hes very good offensively in his own right. Hope they settle in the 9.5-10m range.

Bouchard and Ekholm were damn solid defensively last year too. Not sure where that idea comes from.

Out of the top 10 for points among dmen, Bouchard has the biggest proportion of secondary assists:

Hughes 40/92 43.5%
Makar 41/90 45.6%
Josi 24/85 28.2%
Bouchard 39/82 47.6%
Hedman 31/76 40.8%
Fox 31/73 42.5%
Dobson 25/70 35.7%
Morrissey 31/69 44.9%
Matheson 27/62 43.5%
Dahlin 15/59 25.4%

He falls down to 7th for primary points:

Josi 61
Hughes 52
Makar 49
Hedman 45
Dobson 45
Dahlin 44
Bouchard 43
Fox 42
Morrissey 38
Reilly 36

When i wrote leeching off, I didn't mean all of his points, but it's clear he benefits from McDrai and his points total is inflated by either playing with McDavid/Hyman/RNH on the top line, getting his extra ES time with Drai in exploitation mode, or with both mcDavid and Drai on the PP.

They better get rid of Nurse's horrible contract or they'll be in cap hell in no time. I wouldn't give more than 8-9 mil for Bouch.

Nurse can’t be moved. He and Hub (Cgy) have the two worst contracts in NHL
McDavid’s BFF will not be moved - as Gord Miller has stated multiple times when McJesus told them to give Nurse what he wanted … they were wise to do so…

Giving him 9.5 was far from wise.
