Pretty funny how the NHL is still committing to the bit that Utah is an expansion team. On the NHL app it lists everyone's record from last season except Utah, who is just dashes, because we're pretending they didn't play last season.

They should classify all the players who've only played for the coyotes as rookies heading into this season.
Would you blame Utah for not wanting to carry over the Coyotes' bad vibes and preferring to treat it like a totally new team?

Yikes. Tough turning down $11M AAV. Elite goalies are worth big contracts, I agree. Iggy thinking he deserves more than that is ridiculous...imo

Maybe it's not so much the money he has an issue with. Maybe he wants a lesser term so he can maximize on another contract in a few years. Similar to how Matthews was able to maximize his money by not signing an 8 year deal.

Not as nightmarish as the quality of the ice in game 7 of the final.
Pathetic and a huge disadvantage for any of the better skating finesse teams.
The North/South bull in a china shop Florida Panthers were always likely to win that match up.
It wasn't a coincidence Edmonton had far less finish in Florida.

If Price got 10.5M$ a a long time ago, it makes sense one of the best goaltender in the league would want more given that the cap will soon be significantly higher than when Price signed his contract.

2021 Habs team was the first team to make Cup finals with a $10M+ AAV player, this is when it gets interesting for NYR and their aspirations which are heavily dependent on Shesterkin as Habs was with Price

Rangers already have a $11m+ AAV player. ;)

Florida might be a better example then the 2021 Habs, but I have no idea how the Rangers will find the cap space for a $11m+ Shesterkin and extended Laf.

K. Miller is up for a new contract as well. Trouba is on notice that he'll get jettisoned this upcoming summer, so that's 8M right there.
