Monster season by Tavares so far

He does actually look impressive this year when I’ve watched. Confident, stronger, a little faster, more economical in his movement which is obviously so important for a guy of his age and style.

Caps GM has to be in contention for GM of the year right? Prostas extended for peanuts, PLD for Kuemper, Thompson for a pair of 3rds, Chychrun for Jensen and a 3rd, and Eller for a 5th.

Basically got a 2nd and 3rd line center, a top 3 dman, and a 1B goalie for players who were cap dumps for them and some late picks.

Chychrun has completely turned his game around. He was so soft and poor defensively, but I guess he just didn't care about playing for Ottawa. Protas though, what a pick and contract.

Wouldn't have been disappointed if we got him.

Pretty crazy the job Grier has been doing. He already has a number of his foundational pieces: Celebrini, Smith (1C, 2C), Askarov (1G) and Dickinson (1D). Obviously there's still a lot that can happen and they could stop improving, but SJs management team has definitely thrown the right dices.

We thought we had bad contracts...the Rangers have many contracts that are aging very poorly not to mention how bad the Shesterkin contract already is.

Giving bad bloated contracts is in the Rangers DNA. They can get away with it since they are a rich franchise and they are always an attractive market no matter what.
