Look like Buffalo are going to win a hockey game, leading 6-1 with ±10 minutes to go...

I've been watching hockey since the 80ies and it is the worst team implosion i've ever seen. It even beats Montreal 2015-2016 implosion.

There's no point scratching Kreider. We knew the contract was terrible the day it was signed. The guy will be 34 next spring he's just too old to do what he used to do. Like for Gallagher as a GM/coach you got to accept this and ice the guy and wait for the contract to end.
They did get 3 somewhat unexpected mega value seasons out of him. He'd never hit 30 goals prior to that contract then scored 35-50+ 3 years in a row. He did have Gallagher-like production before the contract though.

Wasn't Laviolette's career already over before he got that job?

But the problem on that team is that the players are angry at the GM, changing the coach wouldn't fix anything.
A lot of strange coaching choices in the last little while.
Gallant was probably the best of the lot between him Quinn and Laviolette.
Even last season I didn't see a winning team as far as the post season goes.
I wonder if it's turned into a bit of a country club similar to when Slats ran the show.

Celebrini is just unreal. Thank God we also lucked out with Demidov that draft. Demidov is a workhorse on top of having skills.

The word gets out and sooner or later someone will take off his head off.
POS and always has been.

Yeah, he's putting a big target on himself. The Panthers definitely won't let that slide. Neither will the Tkachuk boys.

Rangers have been carried by goaltending similar to how the Habs were with Price, but unlike the Habs, they don't have enough players who elevate their game once they hit the playoffs.

Yeah Kucherov will have to deal with Brady I am sure.

That's kind of how I feel about the Rangers franchise as a whole.

I've been watching since the early 90s, and the Rangers have generally been a team that loves to sign veterans with big names, but they never seem to to meet expectations.

The only exception was that one cup in 94 when their project was to basically import the Edmonton oilers championship teams as much as they possibly could.

It's very easy to dislike that franchise

Asshole on asshole crime... Not sure how I feel about that.

Best case, Kuch gets a heavy suspension (unlikely) and Tkachuk doesn't suffer career altering injury.
I watched the first game vs the Panthers and at the end of it Tkachuk was yapping and being his usual asshole self and I thought there would be fireworks the next time they met. I didn't think it would come from Kucherov but he saw a chance and took it, Chuckie would have done the same. It's hard for me to see it any other way.

It's coming. He looks like a cooked lobster standing back there and he has voiced his displeasure with the way he has to conduct himself when communicating with his players. You just know he wants to kick the shit out of somebody lol.
He and Lou won't be able to coexist for much longer

But they went ahead and recreated the Lundqvist error with Shesterkin and now are blowing up the team and will be rebuilding with an 11 million dollar goalie.

I think they want to retool more than blowing things up...but Drury doesn't look like a good GM/roster builder.

Florida just won with a double digit cap hit in net and it will be more common now as the cap goes up.

The issue for the Rangers is that this mix of young and old talent hasn't overlapped well. For example, Zibenajad's decline especially came at a brutal time as he plays a key position for the club.

Lou is obviously too methodical for it, but damn I want to see him and Roy throw hands
He's been hiring and firing NHL coaches since like, 1985. I'd be willing to bet this isn't even getting his blood pressure 1% up. He'll flip that page and move on with little to no care. This is random blonde number 156 for Gene Simmons.
