Bonehead? Everyone wanted him traded to make room for our younger D's. The same naysayers would complain of Hughes if they would of lost Barron to waivers.

Barron is a much better player than Kov....
That has still to be proven. Kovy, at worst, is a reliable #7 d-man. And in NJ,, a better team than Habs, he is playing on a second pairing with 21 minutes of ice time per game. Talk about good evaluation !!! Barron could had been dealt like Harris was. With Kovy in the lineup, both Mailloux and Reinbacher would have had time to mature in the AHL. Maybe Guhle would had played on his natural side at some point.

Good grief - lots of gymnastics here to slam the organization.

Just so I am to understand properly:

1. Kovy could of played first pairing RD according to you replacing Guhle
2. You would prefer Kovy on right and Guhle reducing Hutson's minutes on the left side or would Hutson also need to marinade in Laval
3. in 2 years in Montreal Kovy was defintely top 4 material correct?

Can we wait until the 20 game mark before we anoint Kovy as a Norris candidate?

Last years NJ allowed 283 goals and we allowed 289. This year NJ allowed 39 goals in 12 games and we allowed 33 goals in 9 games (44 goals in 12 games). They don't really have a much better defense than us. If Kova remains in their top 4 they wont go far.

Goals allowed depends of many factors. Forwards and goaltenders are also part of it !

You did not understand nothing. Hutson would had start where he belongs as a rookie : on a 3rd pairing with some PP time. So far he looks good but the kid ,at 165 lbs, won’t have the same energy after Christmas than he has now. He never played so much hockey games in his life. Kovy would had played on the 3rd pairing, even 2nd when we see how Savard is going this year. Guhle is very vulnerable on the right side. His career will be short if he keeps being hit and injured so often. And yes. Hughes lacked vision on this one. He did not protect his raw rookies and now he is shopping for exactly what Kovy is already. Sorry, every teams need that type of d-man.

Nothing you say is based on reality - just rumours and conjecture.

Hutson is the most used D so far - so much for third pairing. Laughable.

Yes, he's not the long term answer in that chair. I mean, we saw the same thing here with him.

Struble ran out of gas in the last part of the season last year… and he is a horse compared to Hutson physically. If Hutson is the most used, you should ask yourself why ? Because the rest of the unit is mediocre at best (except Guhle)or has serious shortcomings.

Struble and Hutson lolol. That's an awful analogy.

He probably hasn't seen Hutson's massive legs:

Endurance has nothing to do with size.

Absolutely not.
I didn't think so. Don't want HUGO to make a trade just for the sake of making a trade. It needs to move the needle. Anderson from Calgary could have been good but I think the price for him just sky rocketed. Too many teams being linked to him. Anyway, We don't need a Kovacevic 2.0
