And the flames took Mailloux, ugh I mean Yakemchuk 6th. Lmaoooo
Carter Yakemchuk is a great prospect. His ceiling is super high, but less likely to hit it as he's a player that has the ability to impact the game in every way possible.

Sam Dickinson is still an amazing dman. He's also a lefty which likely dropped him. If he was a right he probably goes 2nd overall.

Here's hoping the Habs get an early teens pick like San Jose and can move up and grab another solid prospect

Can you imagine getting a Dickinson quality pick with Calgary's selection?

I think players do sometimes leave themselves vulnerable but thats the secondary issue for me.

I'm glad over the last couple decades, we have stopped celebrating Scott Stevens style of head targets, putting all the onus on the the guy getting hit.

There ought to be accountability on the hitter too. The league has come a long way.
There is no secondary issue every "Head Check" needs to be called for what it is and the ones against vulnerable players are actually worse.
The NHL is the only Professional league in the entire world who don't clamp down hard on head shots.
They need to add "Head Check" to the physical rules section along side the boarding charging elbowing etc.
Once that is done they can apply the intent to injure rule which is exactly what most head checks are.

Maybe they need some big assed lawsuits to get them to act.

Yakemchuk reminds me of John Carlson, if that's your drift. Dickinson is showing he can be the man, something he hadn't really shown before. But yeah LD.

The takes on this board are awful regarding Michkov, he's having an awesome year with only one more worthwhile player offensively on that team. Is he perfect? No. But you're just flat-out lying if you don't think he's having an excellent rookie season.
How about the IDGAF and will never GAF argument seeing he isn't a Hab?
Is that also a bad take...:skeptic:

It is a bad take because it’s the out of town thread. If you don’t “GAF” about any player that isn’t a Hab, maybe don’t open this thread because otherwise it shows that you do actually “GAF”.

He's NOT a steady Dman though. He's a potential Sheldon Souray IMO.
That works too, maybe someone else like an early in his career Burns.

He's got that size/toughness to his game too.

I'd take heat as I only started really paying attention at the end, but if it came to having to draft a d, I'd probably have him 2nd to Dickinson.

I think Yakemchuk is good, but hope he stumbles, Ottawa trades him, Montreal gets him, then he figures it out. 🤣

I think he's good too, but I had him ranked a lot lower and a lot of Ds ahead.
