The Sens must feel right at home, considering they are the home team today, with the crowd chanting cheers for the opposing team. :sarcasm:

Avicii arena is pretty nice
Living in Stockholm, I find it pretty meh.
It is nice, looks good and all, but given it's spherical, there is alot of dead air, from the ice to the ceiling it is 85 meters (close to 280 ft).
Unless it is absolutely packed and a big game, it gets pretty quiet unfortunately.
And the acoustics during concerts is really hit and miss as well

I much prefer the old arena next by where the NHL teams have practiced during their stay in Stockholm. Nicknamed the Court, the oldest indoor hockey rink in Sweden, 8 000 capacity, lots of raw concrete, steep stairs and low ceiling - love it!

I haven't been to either but I can imagine it is a bit like The Forum vs Bell Center.

Canucks may be the real deal this year. Pettersson/Miller/Hughes lead the league in points with 26 each, Boeser leads the league in goals, Hronek is playing unbelievably for them, and they are actually getting quality goaltending. The highest scoring Hab has 14 lol.

They are literally firing on all cylinders, and riding the new coach bump.

The return of demko to form is also a big boost for them. Desmith is also killing it, and allowing the Canucks to not burn demko out.

Obviously, this tsunami won't last, but all these banked points bode well for their playoff prospects for the stretches where things won't be coming as easy to them.

No Man's Land
So the NHL sent 4 teams to Sweden for the Global Series and today's Leafs/Wings game is listed as only being on TSN4, which is only available in the Leafs region.

I often wonder if the NHL really do want to promote their product and to make it much easier for more people to watch. These games should've been shown nationally across Canada but nope...

Who needs more people possibly being interested in maybe wanting to watch this Global Series thing anyway right NHL.

Nylander with 1G + 2A today for the Leafs in a 3-2 Leafs win. He now as 11G + 14A for 25 points in only 16 games played. He's having one hell of a great contract season and if this guy chooses to test the UFA market on July 1st he's really gonna get paid.

He'll then choose a new number for himself after he either re-signs with the Leafs or signs elsewhere to replace his 88 :)
