And what happens when he can't duplicate his point total because he doesn't have Nikita Kucherov feeding him pucks????

Thank God Toronto is stupid.

They don't need him to. I doubt they expect him to pop 20+ again.

So he might not get 22 goals without Kucherov laying passes to him on a satin pillow, but he can probably get 15.

McKenna likely goes on the right-side half wall and long-term can be the guy feeding Raddysh's bombs. Lets Matthews go back to the high slot on his strong side as well (it never worked with him as the right-side one-tee guy. Nylander on the left-side. Some combination of Tavares or Knies down low off to the side of the net, long-term it likely ends up Cowan.

They likely have their top PP unit set-up for a half-decade now with this signing.

I've been a Bruins fan for 60 years now, and if there's one thing I've learned over those years, it's that nothing comes easy for the Boston Bruins

Near perfection is what it takes to win a Stanley Cup for the Bruins, and they just couldn't afford to have a mediocre performance in net for a game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals ..(but that's exactly what happened in 2019)

..they absolutely NEEDED a razor sharp, Tim Thomas type performance from their goaltender that night ..but unfortunately for the B's, the only goalie who was razor sharp, was Binnington.

Rask would be the first person to admit he wasn't good enough in game 7, and his own comments after the game verified that .."It was a nightmare for me, obviously." Barely didn't make a save in the first"

Since we both disagree what it means to be "good enough", let's just agree to disagree, and move on

Agreed. Good discussion.

What happens is 40 more Steve Dangle videos screaming ‘What’s wrong with this guy??????’ and us laughing as we watch him go over all the Leafs failings on defense over the past number of years….. 😂😂😂

According to most Leaf fans on this site McKenna is already a top 10 player in the NHL. Start planning that Stanley Cup parade.

Not a matter of if, it's when and how many

The Hockey News can just update this cover and run the same story again.

EDIT: I just noticed the Mittelstadt headline too. Maybe he can be " Boston's Burning Ray OF Light " this time.

The kid is definitely a special player (and had a very good upbringing)
..but of all the teams in the league, Toronto (with it's media circus) might be the worst place for him to go

I wanted the Bruins to get McKenna so bad, that I was kinda hoping they would've had a really bad season ..and then miraculously win the lottery for him
..but they just had to overachieve, only to exit in the 1st round :sarcasm:

..if the Leafs do take him, they'll probably have one of the most dangerous PP's in the league, with Matthews, Nylander and McKenna on it

I still cannot believe Toronto gets first pick

Has there ever been a tighter knit group for an international team before? Those guys won gold and now all want in on Florida/Vegas. Makes me hold my breath with McAvoy a little.

I know there's other factors involved too. The Tkachuks have always put themselves first going back to their dad. Quinn Hughes was in a rotten organization in midst of a LR civil war, clown coaching and horrible ownership. The Yzerplan is on the verge of self-destructing.

Still though, all of these guys except Matthew Tkachuk were captains of these teams. Makes me wonder if Jack Hughes wants out soon. Does Hellebuyck request a trade?
