The accuser was the most terrible human of them all

It's a good thing the Judge saw through her many lies (mostly with video evidence)

..but I don't understand why the accuser wasn't charged for making false allegations, which could've totally ruined these guys lives forever

I don't want to get into the nitty gritty of the case here, but bottom line is I've got no problem with Hart playing. And if he gets to lift the Cup, good for him.

I've only been able to watch extended highlights, but this is obviously high quality hockey through 2 games so far. Seems to me that Vegas cannot skate with the Canes for the full 60, but they have enough patches on top and a better conversion rate to make this a tight tight contest. Hart has maybe been slighter better in net, but not by enough to make a meaningful difference so far.

I think I've seen enough of Rasmus Andersson now in big games to know the Bruins should stay far far away from him.

Occurs to me too much that this series is putting to bed the tired argument that you need "old time hockey", however exactly you want to define that, or the older teams, to draw big interest. Put two high quality teams on the ice and let them go to work with skill, speed and grit and you will draw lots of eyes. I hope this series goes long, as still seems very likely. It deserves it.

At one point Andersen had allowed 7 goals on 29 shots for a .758 SP. You'll never win a best-of-7 series if your goalie's save % is under .800. Zero chance. But then he turned away the next 17 shots to win the game.

That's the part about Vegas I can't figure out. Are they a great counter-punch team, with enough offensive talent to consistently capitalize on their chances?

Or are they a team that has simply encountered an easy road to the finals as far as the goaltending they've gone up against? Neither Wedgewood nor Blackwood looked particularly strong in the previous series. Dostal had one solid game (Game 2) out of six in the previous series and even Husso saw some time. Vejmelka was a bit below average in the 1st round (.885 SP).

They didn't face a Bobrovsky, or a Vasielievsky. They didn't even face a Hellebuyck or a Swayman.

I think Vegas are a genuinely good counter-punch team, and have been to varying degrees for a long time, against multiple goalies. However I think you are right that with the possible exception of Vejmelka they've faced no serious quality in net this run. And there is obvious danger in them continuing to play this way. If they keep giving Carolina sustained O-zone time the Canes will punish them eventually, and if a goalie does shut them down enough that the score starts to more consistently reflect the shot count, they're in trouble.

I tipped Vegas in 7 and sticking with it, but if Carolina can keep running them down and putting on the pressure, it could well tell in the end, especially if their PP gets going. I think the Knights have to threaten a bit more beyond just rushes and breaks if they want to take the series. That said, they had a 2-goal lead pretty late here and were well on the way to a big series advantage before they let it slip, and even then I thought Barbashev's stuff-in goal with 5 to go arguably should have counted.

As it is, all square and still all to play for.

I did feel Vegas got screwed on that no-goal call. Felt it should of counted.

I'll go back to my thoughts entering the series. Colorado was able to outshoot Vegas and keep Vegas to an average of 25 shots per game.

If the league's best shot suppression team in Carolina could get that shot average down to 20 or below vs. Vegas, they had an excellent chance to win the series. With the series now tied I still believe that to be the case, as long as Andersen holds up his end which thus far he really hasn't.

Exactly

Hart was a teenage boy, who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, when an evil woman groupie crossed his path eight years ago

She should have to pay back the settlement money she was given by Hockey Canada, and be charged with making false accustions

I had a friend who was almost wrongfully imprisoned because some girl falsely accused him of physical assault. She threw herself into a table while drunk to give herself a black eye. It was on video.

He had to prove his innocence to the personified cancers that refused to acknowledge the court’s ruling for a long time because they made defending that lunatic their whole personality.

Anyway, she’s in jail now. People actually defended her for years. All over hearsay.

I think this Hart vs the Victim talk is triggering for some people.

False accusations represent only about 5% of all sexual assault cases, yet every woman who's made the claim had to suffer thru the indignity of being doubted and judged. Because of that, sexual assault is also one of the most underreported crimes in the US.

Sorry to hear this. RIP Cliff. Tough week for hockey with his death along with Claude and Dennis Hull.

I remember the huge blockbuster trade with Calgary he pulled off when GM of the Leafs. Big trades like that seemed to happen every few years and blew hockey fans away back then. Those will never happen again in the new NHL
