Rangers had advantage of 14-4 in shots on goal, ended up 16-13 after the period. Almost identical to last game, except iirc they ended up trailing then

Doesn't help when "one of the strongest" forward groups and their crazy D combined for 4 goals in 98 shots in the last 3 games, including one goal in 67 shots the two middle games, including getting shut out at home. That's a 1.5% shooting efficiency in those two games, trying to get into a series before going down 3-0, or 98.5% save percentage for Crawford. Two Carey Prices wouldn't have that high efficiency against the Bruins, even with the help of 15 posts and 5 flubs on gaping nets.

That one of the strongest was meant for the D, my mistake. rw side is killing their offense and Dub was quite weak, again showing that you don't trade elite goalies for backups who have strong 20-40 game strecthes in the regular season. Dub .908% and 2.53gaa in the playoffs.

Say what ya want a/b AO in the past, but He's buying in defensively now.

Rags are going to feel it hard if they lose this, pretty much dominated possesion wise and territorially.

Gotta say, that despite not being similar in regard to roster make up, the Caps right now remind me of the 11 B's.

Hard working, in your face, opportunistic, a little lucky, and a goaltender playing out of his mind.

Glencross. Wish he had come w/ Iggy.

I feel bad for Nash at this point. Glad we're not the only team this happens to in regard to regular season "studs" that can't bring it in the playoffs when it counts.

Thst sucks!

Looks like it's up to "Big Goal" Joel to win it for the Caps now.

Yeah, box plus one, and 1-2-2. Also been in the rope-a-dope for most of this game.

I always wanted to let you know that I love the name of your avatar....
It has a very nice ring to it..

Aw, thanks! It's actually the nickname of Georges Vezina. Probably my favorite hockey nickname ever. (Is it weird that I have a Habs player inspired username? But I justify it to myself by saying that Vezina doesn't belong to the Habs, he belongs to the world.) :)

Rangers win!

Ah, knew the Rags had this for some reason. If the Caps are gonna advance they can't take their foot off the gas the way they are. It was their forecheck making the difference for them early on.

Good series anyway.

Now that is a sea of red in Calgary.

Lundqvist and Rangers are 12-3 in their last 15 postseason elimination games. Henrik had quite a performance in the last one he lost (Stanley Cup deciding game, had 48 saves on 49 shots before the OT winner). Might take something special for Caps to beat them. Or they could borrow Prust from the Habs...

That's quite a playoff beard on Pat Maroon. Man, wish I could have seen what Z's would have looked like by now, had the Bs made it in (and somehow survived this long).
