Team probably has more injuries than we first thought. I can see domi being hurt

After the game with the Capitals, the leafs play 3 games in 12 nights, so they get some rest

I don't think the Steeves callup has anything to do with Domi or Nylander possibly being hurt. I think it's because Berube doesn't see any of Kampf/Dewar/Lorentz/Reaves as guys who can play top 9 roles.

They aren't but neither is Steeves.

Steeves hive is getting their wish. Personally I have never believed in him as a prospect and still don't. Perfect example of a AAAA player to me.

While AAAA is the most likely outcome for the player, I'd like to give him at least a game or two above the 4th line. Give him a short stint to see if his offence can translate because I don't feel like he's had that in his previous time with the Leafs. Put him with Reaves and Kampf and I will guarantee we're all disappointed.

They've recalled Steeves on an emergency basis.... in order to use the emergency recall "function" they need to be at below 12 forwards; so they cannot bring up Steeves in order to healthy scratch Reaves.

This means that either they don't think Dewar is ready, or have a problem with Domi / Nylander.

The one thing I'm not sure of, let's say Domi is a game time decision, so he'll take warmups, is it an emergency situation if it turns out that Domi can go?

Hopefully McMann has a good game tonight.
After he started the season in the pressbox, scored 3 goals in his first 3 games, he literally has not scored a goal since.
He has a total of 1 assist in his last 12 games played.
I've noticed that he's still been doing a lot of the right things and has been great with his board work and puck retrieval but his linemates are pretty useless on actually converting on anything he does for them. Holmberg/Robertson/Domi have just been a total black hole.

Speaking of Burlington, Dickens Pub is always fun, played a few Burly Calling shows there several years back. "Work" outta Burlington too. I put it in quotes cuz I WFH, but office is there. Shit I've said too much. No one knows me ....

Seems there are a few of us here.
Also moved there recently. Grew up in Mississauga, then spent a few years in Oakville after getting married. Comparatively, Burlington has a nice vibe where it's still part of core GTA, has good shopping and food options, is a good place to raise a family and is accessible enough to Toronto but still has some of that more laid back, 'smaller town' feel to it. Have noticed immediately that people are more friendly here. My friends and family who have stayed back in Mississauga are starting to hate it now, and I can see why, the place has become a bit of a chaotic mess post-covid.

We have the same thoughts, particularly the 'friendly' 'smaller town feel'. So happy are daughters were able to grow up here.

Spent 9 years in Mississauga, hated it. Best thing we ever did was move West.

Southwest Mississauga! Love it here.
I'm sure. There are good pockets in every city. Mississauga just got too big for me, took forever to go anywhere.

I lived most of my life by 403/Dundas (and closeby to 403/Winston Churchill), so we were pretty much on that Mississauga / Oakville border which is a calmer and better area. Clarkson and Lorne Park where Malachi Crunch presumably lives are also good spots, but yeah anything east of 403 & Winston Churchill or north of the QEW beyond Clarkson / LP are pretty terrible now, the congestion is absolutely horrendous and crime has gone up a fair bit as well. I recoil when I think of having to go to areas like Heartland, Hurontario, Cooksville, Dixie etc.

First place I ever own was a townhouse near Colonial and Ridgeway. Went from there to a house in the Derry/9th line area (Johnny Bower lived close by).
Hated living there and came to Burlington on the advice of a friend of my wife.

Going to Cooksville Saturday night to a party, should be interesting.
