I noticed that Sogaard sometimes slides out of the net when trying to make stops. Merilainen seems to be under better control and therefore always "in the net".

Which is why they're posts and not open shots at the net for free goals. Half the posts there was no room to score. The other half there was a tiny amount of space.

It's a similar way to how Ullmark plays - positionally sound, look big and I feel like Merilainen or someone like him needs to be the backup. Same styles.

That's an opening on most goalies (some of the bigger goalies are tall enough to cover it).

They've highlighted how players are intentionally trying to shoot off the goalies head from bad angles the last few years because of how modern goaltending defends bad angles these days.

You'll never play perfect all game long, we were by far the better team that period, the fact that the wild were able to eventually mount a push back doesn't change that.
