The Gaudreau’s passing is such a sad time, but looking back it was very weird and very aggressive how the media took down JG when he signed in Columbus. Sports media couldn’t handle an athlete without an ego just making a decision for himself - nothing to sell for the media because there was no ego involved and he went from small market to small market. Showed how much media relies on these massive egos to drive their summer sales and when there is no ego there they bully the athlete for no reason. Big ego and you get bad media, no ego and you get bad media.

In conclusion you will get bad media for no good reason just because the media has pre existing story lines like “small
Market to big market” and if you don’t actually fit one fo their storylines they get angry at you for not making it easy for them to write stories so the substitute is they spam you for no reason

If I recall, some of the negativity surrounding Gaudreau's free agency was that the Flames offered him market value and he still chose to leave. Some hockey fans have a very 1-dimensional perspective of what players are, and they view them almost like property. Had the Flames not offered Gaudreau top dollar, then the fans can blame ownership, but when he left anyways I think some fans took it personally like oh he didn't want to be in Calgary - when there likely could have been very legitimate personal reasons for him to not want to live in Calgary, such as wanting to be closer to home.

When it came to Columbus, I think people saw it as a victory. Like, haha you didn't get to go to the Flyers, the market wasn't there, and you had to settle for the lowly Blue Jackets. As far as it being confusing to fans, Columbus was not a contender and Calgary offered more money.

For whatever reason, fans don't seem to buy "family reasons" unless it's really obvious, like Giroux coming back to Ottawa. Even though Columbus is not that close to Philadelphia, it's still a lot closer than Calgary. Not to mention, Eastern Conference travel is less hectic as well, which probably factored in if family was a primary concern.

Can Mark Boroweicki just come and work for the Sens - is there anybody outside of this market that talks more about the Sens. He’s like our ex and both sides still love each other - should just get back together.

If Boro’s name ever makes it into the Cup it should be beside the Senators name.

Get it done Steve-O

The moments of silence have been done, with respect to Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau can the Sens ask the fans to chant their names one last time and fill the stadium with cheers - we cheer for these guys why not send them out the way we really all want to. Let’s celebrate these guys when it’s our time as fans to do so and just be true Sens fans and send out that love

Brown Girl at the Rink throwing up the hate Melnyck stuff during this playoff run is just her wanting to feel Like a victim of a bunch of rude men on Twitter - like here we are finally afyer 8 years and we have all these amazing vibes and she decides to show us that Twitter is shit and she’s the victim of Twitter and all these mean rude hockey men who answer her troll
Post

She trolled her own fans at their happiest tike in 8 years and got the reaction she wanted, and is milking Twitter victimhood because she likes the attention

Stupid - I am the original Sens fan who said Melnyck was a disgusting drunk who had to go, but even a dude like me knows when to celebrate these good spring time playoff vibes and move on.

She’s a troll, not a victim.

Clair Hannah does the same thing, uses Twitter trolls to describe the Sens fanbase and what a victim she is from Twitter. It’s just a lie, everyone on Twitter is a victim, that’s rhat Twitter is for, to feel sorry for yourself when you want attention - it’s not real life, don’t use it to pretend your life is harder or unfair because you use an unfair platofrom that wants you to feel bad about yourself and dislike the people around you which is what Twitter is

I got off all social media 5 years ago, which explains how I have no idea what you're talking about. The only platform I have left is LinkedIn, which is a wasteland itself. I'd highly recommend to anyone to delete/deactivate your Twitter/FB/whatever account.

All you need is HFBoards ;)

Not sure what you’re talking about.

I'd never heard of her and she doesn't even have 2500 followers on Twitter. Doesn't seem relevant.

Agree though. Now is not the time to lean in to it. He who shall not be named is no longer relevant to the Senators. Time to move on.

You could be on all platforms and rarely know what Tuna is talking about. There isn't a lot of context. 😉

I have never had Twitter and while I appreciate the odd highlight and updates that people post on here, I don't feel I am missing anything. Their content sharing is perfect for me.
