Ottawa follows up one of the worst games of the year with one of the best.

So many players playing amazing tonight led by Pinto, Chabot, Giroux, Zub, Cousins, Sanderson etc. Some significant saves by Leevi too.
Worst game of the year? Lmao. Last game was very far from it.

Also, this is not our best game of the year. Not even close. We're playing very well, but this game is more about Pittsburgh being ass than us being good.

Ottawa with an awsome first period, when they play physical they are such a much better team & Merilainen is already ahead of Forsberg on my score card. Pinto is showing us that we should not give up on these young players too soon & Greig is another good young player who is maturing & will be great for this team. Hopefully they can keep this up & keep pushing Pittsburgh around.
Greig's play is much improved of late, last 6-8 games or so. This, even with the team's overall downturn during that same span. Sometimes you have to wait for the fruit to ripen, for the switch to be tripped at a higher level (league). It's tough to catch up to the much higher speed and skill. Young high draft picks can struggle when they come into the NHL from a place where they were always heads and shoulders above their peer competition, top banana, so they can suddenly hit a wall. We have to be patient, but a team also needs to have to have a solid progress program that teaches, corrects, even disciplines if need be. I see much potential in this player... I really don't want to see them using him too high up in the lineup until he is ready. I'm not saying you can't play him up there here and there, reward him once in a while, but don't blow his confidence, spoil a great asset by demanding too much too soon. Let him be fully baked - like me during a bad Sens game1 (Ok, yes, I have exhausted my analogy quota for the day - sorry!!!) :)

I mean pens goalie let everything in. UPL let everything in.

We gave sabres odd man rushes which we haven’t done tonight but certainly not our best game
