Big 2 for the Kings. Nice third period after a sluggish start, needed those points before going back out on the road for 7 games in 11 days IIRC. Hate matinee games, seemed like no one could really get going on either team except the Sens taking control for 10 minutes of the 2nd. Slop slop slop.

Oh and good, we have our first #Kingspiracy of the season, guess that means we're relevant again, sweet.

Nolan's hit on Ryan.

I guess that's one of those results over process wins. They scored 3 goals on the PP, but they didn't really look effective on the PP. Got a couple bounces, which, can't really complain about. Better than not getting them, or not even being in a position to get them. Didn't generate too many shots overall. Right place, right time for that 3rd goal, which sort of changed the momentum a bit.

Carolina was an ugly loss, Ottawa was an ugly win. Maybe saving their energy for the long road trip? Too many days off before Carolina. Weekend afternoon game today.

Take the 2 points and live to fight another day.

Like I said, for all the times we've looked great losing, we were due a look-bad win. It's whatever, take the points and get ready for a condensed-schedule road trip and hopefully regenerate some momentum like we had before the near-bye weeks.

This upcoming road trip can either go really well or really poorly. Buffalo, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Boston, Columbus, Nashville, Dallas, Vancouver, Edmonton. It's not going to be easy.

My God, judging by the reaction across Canada and the media, you would think multiple-cup winning Ottawa Senators throttled the lottery LA Kings the entire game and only lost because they got jobbed by the refs and off-ice staff while Budaj channeled his inner Hasek. It's a salt mine out there folks.

And then 2 games against the Sharks after these 9 games. One at home, where the Sharks 6-0 in the last 6 games in LA, and then in SJ, which is an NBCSN game.

Looking to be a season defining 11 game stretch. They're 4-7-1 on the road this year. Last time they had a "win or almost might as well pack it in" scenario, after that last long road trip, they won 5 straight. 4 out of those 5 games were at home though, with the other in Anaheim.

Even with the win today, they're sitting 5th in the division. Games in hand on a couple teams, but behind in points in the bank, and all these games on the road coming up.

11 games, you have to figure they need at least 11 points. With every win or point, it'll feel like they're pushing the boulder up the mountain. Any loss, and it'll feel like the road trip is flying by, and the season is slipping through their fingers.

Maybe put Andreoff or Dowd there? Andy adds a little more grit, while Dowd adds a little more skill. Both players are viable in the faceoff dot if Kopi gets kicked out. :dunno:

Not a bad idea for andreoff only thing is i don't think he'll handle the increased mins. However i would rather keep dowd and brown together They seem to have some chemistry. Can't break that up imo

I don't know if going .500 or slightly above that will benefit them after this trip. It's all dependent on how the team's they are chasing perform, but the race is so tight right now.

It's at this point where you hope the team can separate itself from the others in the wild card hunt, but even their most recent stretch of success wasn't enough to accomplish that.

Their playoff spot is going to come down to the wire, similar to what we witnessed in 2015.

Trevor Lewis is on pace for a career year.

I don't think anyone anticipated him to be one of LA's top 5 forwards this season but he has been in contention with any of the top forwards in the lineup.

His effort is always consistent and being more of a presence in front of the net is working for him.

I always wanted him to be like another Darren Helm or Kris Draper and he's fulfilled those wishes thus far. Bringing him back was one of Lombardi's better decisions in the offseason. Probably his best offseason move in quite some time.

Also the Kings are 5-0 wearing those ugly jerseys.

You gotta love Sutter:

Reporter "200 wins with the Kings, any special meaning for you" ?

Sutter "No"

If they take away the third goal do we have to return our mcflurries
