If you are giving up 4 1's a) you need an owner who isn't cheap b)you need to be a playoff team and not give up 4 top 10 picks. That isn't the Sens.
Technically only one of those picks is a top-10 currently. Ottawa owns 3 & 5. If they were to offersheet they would lose the 5th (Ottawa's 1st) and draft with the 3rd OA.
Ottawa adds Stutzle/Byfield + Barzal. Does that make them a playoff team? Not a surefire one, but they could start to compete for a WC spot.
It's an intriguing idea and not one that definitely makes Ottawa a loser. But, that being said, Melnyk will probably take the safer route to "building" a team...
