The 2 announcers on Rogers/22 seemed quite dejected at the end of the game. Were worried about Peiser coming back.

Peiser is the one I was wondering about as well. Frankly I'm surprised he's still with the team given how many of our best players have exited. The Fury would miss him if he moved on.

He was pretty heated today during the game, constantly shouting at the officials about one thing or another. It was kind of amusing.

After an amazing 3 years with OttawaFury. I've decided it's time to find another challenge. Thank you to OSEG and to Ottawa for everything.

I heard something about the fury changing leagues and signing a bunch of local players? Have we dropped to a lower level?

Yes, NASL (Division 2) to USL (Division 3) but USL is applying to US Soccer to be classified as a Div 2 league but sounds like more of an administrative thing, it won't necessarily change anything on the pitch. Probably an economic decision from the Fury, less travel costs and hopefully competitive with less expensive players. The NASL seems a bit unstable as well, which probably helped make the decision easier.

Disagree, the talent level will be lower without a doubt but I still think fan engagement will be the same.

Well we have signed 7 players so far that were on this years NASL team, so there cant be a drop in the talent level so far, in fact i would say it is an improvement on this years team as 2 of the players hardly played this year due to injuries, 1. Kyle Venter did not play a single minute as he was injured in pre-season. 2. Gerardo Bruna only participated in 6 games due to injury.
Venter was a 2nd round pick of the LA Galaxy in 2014. He was also awarded the Ottawa Fury Community Award for his work off the field that saw Venter work with youth in schools, camps, soccer practice and other community outreach programs.
Bruna was in the youth set up of Real Madrid for 5 years, then for 3 years with Liverool.
Also 2 of the signees Haworth and Dixon are with Canada's National team.

So at the present time I totally disagree that the talent level will be lower, also i believe that if the Fury get off to a good start then the fan engagement will be even better.

I was actually referring to USL asking to be made (officially) Division 2. I'm not sure that would have any appreciable difference compared to what it is today at Div 3.

I agree that it will be lower than what we are used to (the league as a whole, not necessarily the Fury).

They've gone from a smaller (12 teams), higher profile league with a lot of big names (Joe Cole, Samaras, Senna, Raul) but more unstable (teams crashing left right and centre), to a larger (30ish teams), younger, lower profile league that is more stable with close ties to MLS (Div 1). A lot of the teams are officially reserve teams of the MLS clubs, but there are a few of very strong independent teams as well (we will be independent in the new league).

In hockey terms: we've moved from the Swedish Hockey League to the AHL (but without a parent team in MLS).

One thing that is likely is that this is a stop-over until the Canadian Premier League is set up - we'll then jump to that league which quite honestly is the best possible outcome for the team and fans.

It's actually not that easy for the USL to get Div 2 status, they've tried for the last few years and got rejected every time. A lot of it has to do with so many USL clubs affiliated with MLS teams. It remains to be seen if they get approved this year.

With that said I am in support of this move, lower operating costs while we're trying to build a fan base.

Ottawa's longest trip will be to Tampa and Orlando, the farthest west they have to go is Lousiville Kentucky

Is the schedule out yet? or is that based upon the structure of the league and who plays whom in general?

So, outside of Edmonton and P.R., not really that different from from NASL although more closer teams that you can bus to.

No the schedule is not out yet. The Fury will be in the Eastern Conference of the USL, currently there are 15 teams in that division they are,

Bethlehem Steel FC
Charleston Battery
Charlotte Independence
FC Cincinnati
FC Montreal
Harrisburg City Islanders
Louisville City FC
New York Red Bulls II
Orlando City B
Ottawa Fury FC
Pittsburgh Riverhounds
Richmond Kickers
Rochester Rhinos
Tampa Bay Rowdies
Toronto FC II

There are 5 independent teams they are Ottawa, Tampa, Cincinnati, Harrisburg and Louisville, the others are all affiliated with MLS teams.
During this season's pre-season the Fury played against 3 of the USL teams, beat Montreal 3-1, beat Toronto 2-1 and drew with Rochester 3-3

There are strange things afoot down at the NASL. There were reports, later denied, that the Cosmos have ceased operations. Sounds like something is going down though regarding the future of the league, and news might be clarified soon.

Sounds like Ottawa had the right idea and decided to jump rather than wait, and be pushed.

Anybody has a list of the players we have signed for next season. Can't seem to find one.

DeBellis is leaving, I just saw this today.

So what is the roster at this moment?

I have this:

MacCrea
Dixon
Edwards
Haworth
Bruna
Venter
Rozeboom
Williams
Obasi
Seoane
Campbell
Dos Santos

Am I missing anything? Is there still other players under contract?
