Awesome pickups in Attakora and Tissot. Both coming off record, championship winning seasons with the Deltas, both with MLS and Canadian MNT experience.

I liked Tissot when he was with the Fury back in 2016 (?), if a little un-impactful at times (was a bit of a lame duck season for everyone..).

My feelings on the roster have done a 180 with this move.

Fury have now 13 players signed, they probably need another 10, so look for more announcements. 7 of the players signed so far are Canadian.

Full schedule not out yet but this is who the Fury play this season

The 2018 USL Eastern Conference alignment is as follows:
  • ATL UTD 2
  • Charleston Battery
  • Charlotte Independence
  • FC Cincinnati
  • Indy Eleven
  • Louisville City FC
  • Nashville SC
  • New York Red Bulls II
  • North Carolina FC
  • Ottawa Fury FC
  • Penn FC
    (formerly Harrisburg City Islanders)
  • Pittsburgh Riverhounds
  • Richmond Kickers
  • Tampa Bay Rowdies
  • Toronto FC II
I think the Fury will also play 2 home and away games against 2 teams from the Westen Conference to come up with a 32 game schedule

Really pleased with these signings - the roster is looking fantastic on paper so far.

I'd love if we could pick up another forward minded midfielder and maybe another striker. Both Sito and Dos Santos have been good, but inconsistent in that role so someone to push them would be good.

Ottawa Fury open their 2nd season in the USL tomorrow (saturday (Mar 17) in Charlotte at 7pm.
Since the last post Fury have made some more signings
Cristian Portilla becoming the 3rd player to join the Fury who last year played for NASL champions San Francisco Deltas.
Kyle Porter a former Fury player rejoins after playing for Tampa Bay Rowdies last year.
David Monsalve becomes the Fury's 3rd goalie .
Alejandro Antonio ‘Tony’ Taylor Jr who last year played for Jacksonville Armada.
Michael Salazar on a season long loan from Montreal Impact (played 4 games for the Fury last year)
Thomas Meilleur-Giguère on a season long loan from Montreal Impact. (played 4 games for the Fury last year)
Gabriel Wiethaeuper-Balbinotti last year played for Montreal Impact Academy U 18's..
Adonijah Reid on a season long loan from MLS club FC Dallas (Reid was on loan to the Fury last year)
Chris Mannella who last year played for Vaughan Azzurri.
Monti Mohsen a local player who has trained with the Fury since last year.
Ottawa Fury now has 26 players and could be called Canada's team as they have 15 Canadian players on their roster.

Fury did not get off to a good start losing 4-1 in Charlotte. Due to 10 players not being available for various reason Fury only travelled with 16 players which included Mannella and Mohsen signed the day before. Fury do not have a game this week so this will give the players a chance to recover. Fury also added their 16th Canadian with the signing of Shamit Shome on a season long loan from Montreal Impact

I was wondering why they weren’t fielding their strongest lineup. Makes sense now. It was a close match until the last 10 minutes. I like the way they played but they can obviously improve going forward which I think they will as they get more games in.

Fury have added another Canadian their 16th out of 27 players, Shamit Shome on a season long loan from Montreal Impact . Fury have no game this week as it's their bye week, so hopefully some of their injured players will be back for their next game when they play Toronto FC ll at BMO field at 7:30 March 31.

Fury on a roll, undefeated in last 3 games with 3 shutouts, 0-0 v NYRB 2, 1-0 against Penn fc and 2-0 against Atlanta U 2. Would it be a coincidence of Doneil Henry joining the Fury on loan from Vancouver for a month. Also Sito Seaone was released last week. A number of players are still waiting for their debuts with the Fury, due to injuries received in pre-season, they are Tissot, Attakora, also Shome recalled by Montreal and Salazar injured after 1 game.

So Fury did get another shutout their 5th in a row. Fury won 1-0 on a goal after only 45 seconds of the first half, even though they only scored the one goal they came very close many times including hitting the post at least 4 times. Interesting fact in this game was that the Fury started with 7 Canadians in their lineup and had another 5 on the bench. Next game is against their Canadian cousins Toronto FC 2 on wednesday night at TD Place.

Last night the Ottawa Fury were in Atlanta, the game was scheduled to start at 7pm, due to a major storm in the area the game did not start until after 10pm, after 3 mins Ottawa were down 1-0, but by the 11th min. they had tied it up, just as the first half was about to end the thunder and lightning returned and the players were told to leave the field, just after midnight the game was suspended and the game will resume at a future date (to be scheduled with the league) and will start in the 44th minute with a score of 1-1. So Ottawa will have to travel back to Atlanta and play the remaining 56 minutes.

Tonight the Fury go into unknown territory, when they travel to Quebec to play PLSQ champions AS Blainville who defeated League 1 Ontario champions Oakville Blue Devils 3-1 over a 2 game home and home series, the Fury will play the 2nd game next wednesday at TD Place, the winner will play Toronto FC in the semi final of the Voyageurs Cup, the other semi final will be between Montreal Impact and Vancouver Whitecaps. The Voyageurs Cup is the trophy for the Canadian Championship.

Nice to see the Fury come away with a 1-0 victory on the away leg. Certainly not a blow out, they'll need to take it seriously next week if they want to ensure the match up with TFC.
