Sheahan 2.1M
Sproul 625K
a young project like Nastasiuk or maybe a pick

Lazar 895K
Wideman 800K

Ottawa does this hoping Sproul becomes more than Wideman and to add to their shallow AHL depth.

Detroit does this hoping Lazar becomes more than Sheahan and to save a million on the cap.

its not atrocious

that said, both teams likely need sproul then either team needs sheahan or lazar therefore no thankyou

detroit NEEDS good young dmen MORE than any of the other 29 nhl clubs so any trade where we dont gain one and lose a potential one is bad for us

Easy pass

Sheahan is more then likely a expansion casualty to Las Vegas next summer any ways.

And i'm really high on Sproul, I see him at least being another Marek Zidlicky type of D man. Would rather give up Ouellet then Sproul. Sproul is a 6'4 RHD with a cannon slap shot would rather easily keep him.

Won't you guys end up exposing Sproul during expansion? I assume you'd protect Kronwall, DK and Green.

Nope. Not at this point. Sproul is exactly the type of defenseman Detroit and needs and he's looking great in the NHL.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Green traded (if we're tanking) before then, but if not, we won't be protecting Kronwall, who has fallen off a cliff and can barely skate now.

Kronwall's knees are shot. He can't stay in the lineup and there is no way Vegas would pickup that contract with all the other admen available. Dekeyser, Green and Sproul will be protected.

No reason for Detroit to do this trade

Would Detroit look at dealing Helm/Abdelkader?

Nope not right now, Holland just chased after Helm to resign him. From what Dreger said that Helm left money on the table to resign with Detroit. And with Abdelkader being a Michigan kid no way would Holland trade him and Abdelkader was just given the A from when Datsyuk left neither are going any where any time soon.

That makes sense. Would love, love, love Helm on my team.

I hope so. But realistically no one is touching Abdelkader's abysmal contract.

Would you guys retain on Abdelkader? I know you guys could, were you to pursue a rebuild, but I feel like that's not the style of The Big Caesar.

The team is probably not interested in retaining for 7 years. The cap hit isn't the issue, the issue is the term.

I'd have a hard time seeing Las Vegas take Kronwall with his known knee issues, age, and years left on his contract. But Holland may not want to risk it because I believe we could get stuck with recapture.

We may trade Green at the deadline if we are out of the playoff hunt.

Lots of moving parts this early in the season, it's hard to say.

Regardless I don't like the return in your proposed trade, I'd look for draft picks if I'm moving these guys.

Would Detroit look at dealing Helm/Abdelkader?

I'd be all for it. But Abby is a local kid, and Holland is friends with Helm's wife, so I highly doubt it. Holland is overly loyal to even role players.

I don't see why the Sens would do that. Wideman and Lazar bring something and are not in need of a change of scenery

Detroit would likely not be interested as well. It doesn't fill any need for both teams.

Nope i see Holland exposing Kronwall, And with his knees shot no way does Las Vegas take him any ways.

As far as D goes, I think Holland protects DeKeyser, Green and Sproul.

I'll believe it when I see it. Holland is way too loyal for me to think he will expose him. Who knows though, people change right??? Hopefully???
