That's my chief concern. The best justification for picking up Puempel (and why I wouldn't object if this goes down) is that he could get us that much closer to shipping Gregory Campbell to Cleveland, which is an inherently virtuous goal.
But it's not as though he's going to see any more playing time here than he would there, unless he has the sort of breakout that would make Ottawa seriously regret trading him. Given the number of "they could break out" forwards we already have, that's not a bet that I find all that motivating.Not against it, but not really in a hurry to make it happen either.
