Saginaw laid some big hits on us throughout the game (Yanni and Whitehead come to mind). We got up each time but I was wincing in the crowd. When you'rs as small as we are the bigger teams will inevitably take advantage. I liked our fight-back and scrappiness but honestly it seemed kinda futile. If you can't score and you can't fight what are you supposed to do? This team is a long way away from competing. A shout out to Houben, Horner, Mayich, and Pinelli for their effort.

I don’t think many coaches want the responsibility of coaching Canada really. They know if they lose they’ll get blasted for it as the past 2 coaches have. Seems like it would be very stressful.

However…. Cameron’s this year is 100% justified lots of very mind boggling decisions with poor outcomes.

Troy Mann the fronts coach I could see trying to take the reins next year with a couple qmjhl and couple WHL coaches. Why Mann? He wants to get back into the AHL at some point or land an NHL job. Their team next year is returning tons of stars including both their star goalies, Mckenna who may be the best one at the tournament next year, Schaefer COULD be back, same with martone, Dickinson, Luchanko, Beaudoin, catton and then guys like Parekh, Misa, Sennecke, Roobroeck, McQueen, Lindstrom, Desnoyers, Verhoeff etc could be on the team. This years team should’ve been very good. Next years- if it isn’t then hockey Canada needs to fire EVERYONE.

The reason why Dale hunter doesn't want to do it probably is because he’s got a good thing going in London- chasing a bunch of records in the chl and is arguably the best coach of all time at the junior level and has nothing to prove and everything to lose taking on the head coaching job of the Canadian team.
If you look at the good CHL coaches that stick around, you will see that they are not interested in the WJC because it holds nothing for them. One of the things I found interesting was tht Cameron got it twice in a row.

Looking at DC the question is not his health it is his ability to motivate and develop. DC wants players to lay defence, it seems to me, and has a hard time developing young talent.

With all our injuries, it will be interesting to see what happens to Whitehead Houben, Ekberg and Amidovski when the players return. Will Amidovski and Ekberg get moved back to the 4th line and played minimally?

I am not a great coach, but to me, it makes more sense this year at this stage to play all 4 lines at almost an equal time frame. Let's face it: we are not going to be setting the league on fire this year so why not give the young guys a chance to develop and see what we have coming back next year with more development?

As @OMG67 and others have stated, the question on DC is not so much whether he is a good coach as whether players will come here and play for him.

Unlike @OMG67, I am not looking at signing USHL players for me; that is foolhardy. I would suggest the big question is who Boyd drafts and will they report, along with how many players request to leave the team and be traded.

I haven’t refreshed my memory but I believe we have around eight draft picks playing in the USHL/USNTDP. You are referring to Boyd drafting players that will report. How about getting draft picks already used to report first?
