Yes impressive weekend. Nice to see the young players coming through with increased icetime.
Kelly’s best weekend of the year. Dever turned it up a bit. Gerrior was consistent as usual. I still think Whitehead and Amidovski need and deserve some more ice time. Great weekend overall, but hopefully it doesn’t confuse the management into buying instead of selling.

I think this is bang on. Dever for sure had an impressive weekend. Same with Kelly. Both looked as good as they’ve ever looked.

Barrie didn’t show up for 50 minutes of the game on Saturday so we managed to take advantage which is good but I don’t think we can look at that game as a confidence builder that defines our season prospects. Four out of five times, we lose that game. But I will take the win for sure.

The landscape closer to the deadline will determine where we stand. I think the market will dictate a bit about what we do.

We are seeing a lot of the older players getting ice time because it is show-and-tell time in the OHL.

Boyd wants to show off these players, as they are the tradeable ones. Dever's having a good weekend is good for him but possibly bad for us. If he gets traded, we will be back to having only 2 real centers next year.

Mack, Gerrior and Stonehouse I think the market has been set and there is not alot on offer.

Mayich is the top OA that teams are going to call about. Let's face it he would be a calming influence in Brampton.

Mews, I think, started the season with 2 problems. The first was draftitis ( I have been drafted; therefore, I know what I want to do). The second was DC and his system and a dislike for it.

If I am Boyd I have one question for Mews.

If DC is back as coach next year, will you report, or will you ask for a trade? Considering that next year's team will probably not be as good as this year, it would be reasonable to ask.

If the answer is noor not sure, then he needs to be traded now when we can get the most for him.

OVERALL THOUGH, this was an AWESOME weekend. we won the games we needed and were close and competitive.

I stillthink the battle for playoffs will be us and NB

The Conferences are wonky right now. The bottom five in the Western Conference are a combined -30 in win/loss differential. The bottom five in the Eastern conference are a combine -5. There seems to be a lot more parity in the Eastern Conference.

The one thing no one seems to talk about much are the Brantford Bulldogs. They are doing OK but are only 3 points ahead of Ottawa. They are built for next year. I know they had a couple D-Men fall in their lap but Lardis may end up bing a very interesting trade chip. That kid is tearing it up. Vanacker has returned and he is starting a bit slow so we shall see how well he shifts gears prior to the deadline. If he stays flat, it may be in Brantford’s best interest to do a small sell and stockpile assets for next year. Alternatively, they could go after the two 2-year players in Luchanko and Mews. Make a run this year and next.

I’m really not focused much on Ottawa. I think Boyd knows what needs to be done. There is obvious interest in Ottawa players. Boyd will see what comes his way and if he finds a deal that makes sense then so be it. Otherwise I think he will be content with status quo. The market will dictate what he does and what he doesn’t.
