Watching the Zammy clean the ice between periods is more exciting than this hockey game. Hopefully we find some legs for the 3rd

Great work by Ekberg on that 2nd goal…. I don’t think he gets a point but he set all of that up and made that goal happen.
Ekberg has been playing well all night - drew three penalties in the first too (not that our PP could do anything with that). Ekberg-Whitehead-Amidovski has been maybe our second best line all night and has been rewarded with regular ice time. It is the most Amidovski has played all year I think. Hopefully they keep it up as it is nice to see them playing effectively. Dever’s line is mostly sleepwalking tonight and Barlas’ line is just playing ok.

I think the boys played almost as well as they could today. Our stars showed up to carry the load: Mews, Pinelli, Stonehouse, Mack, and Mayich. Eckberg good too. The rest were trying to chip in. We are a .500 team currently and we are having success due to superb coaching.

There's been a lot of crapping here on DC but the only reason we are here and this consistently "good" is because of DC. His job is to take whatever resources he's given and to coach them to win games. I'd say he's done that.

With better resources he'd do better. That's up to Boyd. If we weren't so good for so long we'd be picking higher in the draft. Maybe Boyd should allow the team to suck more for 2 years and we'll get some big skilled picks. I'm not sure he has that choice. If he has, maybe DC isn't the right choice of coach for the next phase.

From a “team preparedness” perspective, DC is a really good coach. That isn’t the issue. The issue is whether he has the traits necessary to connect and develop ALL players. Other teams are starting to gear up and “catch up” to where DC has had Ottawa for the last 6 weeks. OS is a five game below .500 team that has already sold off Barlow, have Konnor Smith injured and are on a 3 game in 4 day roadie. This should be an easy Ottawa win. It wasn’t.

Boyd is a good GM. He drafts well. He has made a lot of solid “seller” trades for players that have requested to be moved. He has brought in some pretty good elite players in buyer trades as well. His test now comes in bagging some NCAA bound players and get them to delay their start date for College by one year so they can play through their 19 year old season. Let’s see what he can do there.

I have always defended Cameron and I think he's a good coach. Having said that, at this point, he may be a good coach for a different team. Because of his lineup decisions I'm really starting to lose patience.

There's no doubt that the team has mostly played very well, probably better than expected. Having said that, most of the key prospects didn't get the kinda role they should have this season. In fact, Eshkawkogan is pretty much the lone kid getting such a role. Ekberg's ice time has been very up and down and when he was on the top line he played wing only. Whithead's icetime has been very up and down as well but he mostly had too small of a role. Amidovski barely gets to play in most games.

To me it's just not enough. Overall it's not enough. I understand he wants to win but you still have to play the kids. Even if you wanna win and add this season you can only justify it with your key kids making progress. You can't justify adding if Kooper Foster is your top Center. Again, Cameron is a good coach but I don't really see the plan. It's more of the same of what we saw last season when Cameron did play Mews, Marrelli and Körbler but basically none of the other kids. He even played clearly injured vets over Yanni and Whitehead during playoffs and by doing so, completely ruined his 4th line.

I think Ekberg and Whitehead were very dynamic; Amidovski got a lot of ice, but I honestly think he held that line back. Maybe shouldn't be hard on him given he has yet to play much?

I honestly thought Pinnelli did not have his best game today, He gave up the puck in our own end several times, and had the puck knocked off his stick a few more times at the OS blue line. BUT, he definitely made up for it at the end of the game with several gutsy shot blocks when it really mattered.

I think we have seen two outstanding performances from Mews this weekend. I was mentioning to my daughter on Friday that he was great, carrying the puck very effectively into the opposition end with a lot of speed, control and confidence.
Anybody else get the sense he has been given a little more freedom to get involved in leading and joining the attack?

Very gutsy performances from Marrelli in both games too. On Friday had his face cut open, and then smashed into the glass by Barlow, but he never relented and had several impact defensive tough plays.

Given Foster's poor face-off skills, Stonehouse seems to be taking that lines big faceoffs, and I think that is a good move by the coaching staff.

Gadder is one of the loudest and persistent voices against DC. Let me explain.

DC might be a good coach, but he relies on his top two lines and larger players. I have yet to see anyone on this team who he has developed into a better player. On the contrary, Mews dropped in the NHL ratings, and Ekberg is almost off the page even though he was one of the top-listed players.

where he really lost me though was last year in the playoffs no one saw this team as going all the way except Boyd, OMG and DC. In order to do that he shortened his bench and played players that were injured instead of players that were healthy and had the fire. He messed up stonehouses
career by not getting him the surgery or assistance he needed earlier. He dressed a player that could barely hold a stick.

That, to me, is bad coaching. This year he was given a team with a lot of young talent a center that

We are enthused to officially welcome Nathan to the Ottawa 67’s,” said 67’s General Manager James Boyd. “He is a smooth skater, who boasts a combination of size, skating, and offensive tools.”

So what happens to this 11th overall pick going to a rebuilding team? He gets one shift a game and sits on the bench.

@OMG67 said that Boyd has drafted well mmm Barlas, HB good drafting. As to his other picks, let's see Whitehead spend the year sitting on the bench, Yanni spent it in Jra, and when he came up on the bench, Then you have Amidovski, who is, according to the way he is being played either a bad draft pick by Boyd or missused by the coach.

We have the top rookie scorer in the league playing on the 4th line even though

Filip is a proven point producer who has played a key role with Sweden’s national teams. He joined elite company in 2023-2024, playing in Sweden’s Allsvenskan professional league as a 16-year-old,” said 67’s General Manager James Boyd. “We are thrilled to welcome him to the Ottawa 67’s for the next phase of his development.”

Jan has a always been able to get the star players from Europe so it is Boyd not drafting the right players and overhyping them or DC not knowing how to play and develop them.

The only reason that Esh is getting the icetime that he is we are short defenceman
