Personally, I would prefer to keep MacK BUT if they do decide to trade Pinelli, Stonehouse becomes somewhat of a replacement for him up front. It makes that deal not quite as painful. For that reason, I am sort of leaning towards moving MacK. At least Nelson would have had a half season under MacK. Hopefully he will have extracted a lot of information.
It’s clear DC wants Dever to play centre on two lines he does every night when that 4th line gets a shift it’s Dever Centreing it.
Big test for Nelson tonight against a very good Brampton team. Not only Nelson but once again the D are up for a big test as well a lot of star power on this Brampton team. Looking forward to getting into my seat for puck drop. Going to be great to see stonehouse up to his typical shenanigans tonight I think we were missing a pest like him but that being said he has to stay out of the box as our Pk is a serious issue

Great game through 2. Lots of chances for both teams. Brampton’s goal was a little in the soft side but Nelson has looked good otherwise.
Stonehouse is looking pretty close to his usual self - involved all over. This is certainly the strongest our forward group has looked this year I think, and that’s without Ekberg (who hasn’t returned after missing warmup). Lines were shuffled for the second and Stonehouse was up with Pinelli and Foster. Horner spent the second period back up front with Gerrior and Denver. Yanni has looked good in his return with somewhat limited ice.

Looks like they had a great game. I am wondering what the story is with Brampton. Was it just a letdown, or are they for real this year?
I think with the sick parade and injuries waiving Mack might be the only option. Not the best option but we need forwards and defence.
Can Conway be backup? I am not sure, but I think they need to look at that and or trade for a 19 year old goalie to back up Nelson if they think Conway is not ready.

I’ve been saying it for a couple weeks now. I think Brampton needs a true captain, not just their best player wearing the “C”. I am not sure who that could be but that needs to be a priority. Coming into he season, I thought it would be Leskovar but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Mind you, he has only played 5 games so maybe that is what they are missing, sort of like th ePetes a couple seasons ago with Spearing.

Whoa, where did that come from? A solid game by Ottawa, top to bottom.
- Nelson played very well, except for the only goal which snuck through him.
- Stonehouse hasn't missed a beat from his pre-injury days last year. A pest, and effective. Was hoping he'd score.

Agreed on all points, but I thought Amidovski got his customary single shift in the first period?
Very Nice showing tonight, nice to win a game that was not decided by one goal.
Missed last weekend's games, so went very early tonight to watch. Team seemed unusually loose and confident in the warmup (or maybe that was me after a few Bud Lights on sale?)
Great games for all the players mentioned above.
Mews seems to have "re-integrated" himself with his teammates and it is showing big time. Noise I heard is he came back from NHL camp with a bit of an ego, but he seems to have been meshing again with the team, and it shows in his performance the last few weeks.
As far as OA situation goes, odds-on favorite now to be traded/released is now sadly MacKer, unless something else is already in the works.
We all know Mayich is indispensable, Gerrior has limited projected possible destinations. Stonehouse still would have value for some buyer team (documented as limited by OMG), and there very few spots available for an OA goalie....

I'll take Mack for 100 Alex
If they trade Pineli they are going to have a hole it makes more sense to trade waive MacK and pick up a cheap 19 year old to back up Nelson if Conway can't do it.
I think Stonehouse and Mayich are more valuable to the team than Gerrior, but Mac just isn’t a super clear upgrade over Nelson at this point and I think Gerrior+Nelson+Random 19 year old backup is a better overall team result than Mac without Gerrior.

There are a couple factors to consider.
IMO, I think MacK is super important for the development of Nelson. Not only is MacK a good goalie but he can also be a strong mentor. So, the question there is whether MacK as a mentor makes sense now?
But, the BIG question is whether MacK is fine being a platoon goalie and mentor for his OA year when he is trying to nail down a future in hockey. To me, that is a question we have not discussed at all. If there is an opening in the QMJHL or WHL for a goalie like MacK, then I think the answer is obvious. The 67’s need to get him there.

Wow , you realize that that is what I have been preaching about all the OA this year. They need to go somewhere that they are going to get the games. At this stage, I doubt there is another CHL team that needs him. I think the best he can hope for is the same as Donoso. Looking at the way that OA has been treated on this team, I think Boyd has screwed up. I can see the team view, but looking at the players, I think he has been unfair. The only player who is guaranteed to play when released is Stonehouse, as I am sure the Oilers can make room in the ECHL for him.
This is not an Ottawa issue; it is a league issue. I think the rule needs to be changed so that you can have a two-OA period by the end of October. That would allow players to move and find a place.
Next year we arepotentially going to go through the same crap

That is why I think we need to trade at least 2 of these players this year at the deadline. No matter what the return it for some of them.
