Provided no trades are made at the deadline that eliminate this possibility, I think it will be Foster and Dever. I think whomever the 3rd OA is will be replaced with an OA D-Man that we can pick up at an early stage. I agree with Sirius on that.

We don’t know what players will be inserted in trades though. So, this could change. We lose Mayich and obviously Mews if he is traded by the deadline. Bonomo would likely be added. But, I still feel that unless we add an 18 year old D-Man in the Mews deal, that OA D-Man will be needed. There is only so much Marrelli can do.
this makes sense except for the 18-year-old D. What quality are we going to get is the question. We don't need a body what we need is a player that can play. If we are only looking for a body then bring Bonomo up.

I think it depends on how much ice time Horner gets as a D. If he replaces Mews as a D body, we could see him stay until, of course, someone better comes along.

The thing is, I do not see them haggling over. We need a D to replace a D if the team offers a young center; for instance, do you still demand a D. or look for one elsewhere?

If we bring back an 18 year old D-Man, similar to what OS brought back in the Barlow deal (Bedkowski), then we will be a little better off next season with some leadership on the back end. If we end up with a couple ‘08s int he Pinelli and Mews deals then we will definitely need an OA D-Man. That assumes DC doesn’t keep Horner as the OA D-Man. I cannot see that happening but there is a lot of runway still left int he season for perspectives to change.

Make no mistake. Unless Boyd can bring in a couple NCAA commits, this 67’s team is likely to struggle next year. So, I get what you were saying int he other post. No sense in spending but having that extra guy back there they can lean on would be helpful to the rest of the defence as well as Nelson.

I know no one has really mentioned Barlas but I think if Foster goes, Barlas will slide into his spot.

In answer to your trade question, take best trade available. Position shouldn’t matter.

Solid game today. 67’s played well. Mack with another solid performance between the pipes. Dever with a great game. His effort on the 3rd goal was crazy.

Wonder if as a result we see a trade soon?

Forgot to tape the game but that's Dever to a degree. I've noticed he'll be awesome for a game or a few then becomes less impactful for a stretch. We need his A game every night.

He’s smaller so it is harder for him to be effective all games. That is the trade off. You get players like that in the 4th/5th round. Just gotta be happy with that from guys that are typically depth players.

His speed is very elite as well. I would put him up against the fastest in the league, I think it’s more when you get a team with a lot of slow D he shines, watch most of his offensive comes when he blows the D & scores or sets someone up on the door step.

Good game all around tonight. Short bench DC rolled 9 forwards all game. Mackenzie was very good. D kept it simple.

This team has showed a lot of positive’s. One day I think this team can be middle of the pack the next game I think they need to sell off all they have. Just depends what team shows up to play each night.

The team could stay status quo, and finish in the playoffs. The issue is the projected top 3 are just soooo strong. Once the three of them finish their buying sprees, I think it will be much more evident. And that doesn’t include any dark horses that may emerge. Brantford will get Vanacker back soon and they got the two Import D-Men to report. They could make a move or two and make it a four team race making it really difficult for the 67s to get out of round one.

I think the disciplined approach would be to move Pinelli and make a decision on Mews if he truly wants out. That would be the sell off this year. Nothing much to sell off next year (assuming Mews is moved this year) so it will be a development year. No big deal. Polish some gems and get ready for a strong 2026-27 and their next run.
