I think it was a poor fit, but it was a solid idea to sign him. Just didnt work.

Ottawa backloaded the deal havily so he ultimately he got paid 3.5M (less escrow) to put up a 20 goal pace on the 2nd and 3rd line.

We then traded him for a big 7th defenseman we kinda needed and a pick. Win for us I guess?

Holden is a utility stay at home defenseman. He's pretty stable overall, but will make you cringe occasionally.
