The 2way is interesting. Brown is now eligible for waivers and you would think a rebuilding team would pick him up if waived

I'd guess by this contract they couldn't find a willing trade partner. If he does well at TC then the contract is fine. If he continues to flame our...waivable.
I doubt they ever intended to trade him. Why bother? Let's see what he can do

Up until training camp last season he was considered the better bet to be Ottawa's new #1 center compared to Norris.

And he ended up playing 2 NHL games. At one point Tyson Jost was the best bet to be the Avs #2 center before training camp. Expectations don’t mean anything, especially when the player hasn’t proven anything in the NHL.

I can see Benning throwing Ottawa a 2nd for him. Id be ok with a 4th or later round pick

What would Ottawa be looking for in a trade to the Flames? Sutter likes his big boys and he could fit in.
