How does Strome make ottawa faster? How does either make them younger? Brannstrom is 22 and that 2nd is probably 17 years old right now.

Strome is more valuable than a 2nd round pick.

What are the odds your team is going to draft a player in the 2nd round better than Strome?

It could happen, but it's not that likely.

I think the odds that a 2nd round pick is a multi-season player for Ottawa, or a player that plays for us during our competitive window, are exponentially higher than those odds for Strome.

That's the real equation - not "who will havse the best career or peak". And even on that front, I would argue that Ottawa has picked several players in the 2nd that will have a far more important role on actual successful teams than Strome ever will.

As much as I like Greig I'd probably do the deal. We need a RWer and we have an open spot. He has a lot of skill but still plays with jam which also fits the motto of the team.

I'd try to do that and then bring in a more established center to help Norris and Pinto.
