I like this deal for Carolina. They pay for Bad Paquette and Not-Used Galchenyuk, give up no draft picks, and hope that they strike lightning in a bottle with one of the two.
Don’t really get this deal for Carolina. Was Dzingel struggling that badly?

Melnyk probably even saves on jersey, just pulls old one from shelve
Dzingel wasn’t given much of a shot. Paquette fills a need of 4C punisher.Don’t really get this deal for Carolina. Was Dzingel struggling that badly?

There is not much punish left in Paquette. He's been really bad from day 1. Galchenyuk at least has a laser shot on the PP that could be useful.Dzingel wasn’t given much of a shot. Paquette fills a need of 4C punisher.
chucky, while useless, has a cap hit small enough that on the taxi squad carries no hit. We have around 3 million in cap space for a deadline deal that is equivalent to a 5-6 million dollar player. We can get more useful scoring if needed.
I would bet we see something different on a squad that wants to compete. There is not much punish left in Paquette. He's been really bad from day 1. Galchenyuk at least has a laser shot on the PP that could be useful.

Perhaps but I wouldn't bet on it.I would bet we see something different on a squad that wants to compete.
You mean why Carolina didn't take Stepan instead of Gally? Is this a serious question?Other question for me here is why wasn't it Stepan considering I understand he wants out of Ottawa.
Unless we sign another forward, he is one of two that meet the minimum exposure requirements that we would be okay losing. How about trading Jesper Fast back to the Rangers in a similar trade?
