No never, stop. I would quit my job, break up with my (non-existent) girlfriend and move to another city if Ottawa traded for Kane.

Buffalo - Fowler
Anaheim - Kane, Ottawa 3rd, Minnesota's 2nd (via Buffalo), Wikstrand
Ottawa - Silfverberg

Buffalo gets Fowler at the cost of Kane and a pick.

Ottawa gets Silfverberg at the cost of a pick and prospect.

Anaheim gets a scoring winger, 2 picks, frees up 2.5M in cap space and a prospect that is a gamble but has the potential to be an OEL.

Ducks are not trading Fowler and Silfverberg to get troubled Kane a 22 year old defenseman prospect we don't need and some picks.

Don't want the cancer Kane who's not even that good.

Really bad for Anaheim.

Ottawa would never take Kane. Ever.

Ottawa does not target problem players.

Just want to point out that Ottawa has traded for Kyle Turris and Nikita Filatov in recent years who both at the time of their trades were considered to be head-cases. It was also rumored at one point that Ottawa was interested in Kane. Not to mention Drouin as well, just last year. I'm sure there are a few more examples that escape me.

Of course, this is all based over a couple of years but to say that Ottawa has targeted "problem players" is not a stretch by any means and I don't think it would be a stretch to say that they will at some point target another "problem player".

I think Kane is a different type of problem player than Turris, Drouin and Filatov.

Turris held out on a contract. Kane has "allegedly" assaulted people. Quite a bit of a difference.

The kind of "problem" was much different. Assaulting women and being kicked off a team as a semi-star by your own teammates is a lot different then money or playing time disputes.

If courts are involved or your actual teammates mutiny on you... Different story. Turris is a total professional. Filatov was a lottery ticket. I guarantee Ottawa has no interest at all in Evander Kane. Even if he was on waivers... Free.

Ottawa got caught up in some off ice problems a half decade ago... Never came out in full in
The media. But the players with the "issues" all were soon out of town. No one in this management group wants "issues" like were happening 5/6/7 years ago. Kane is not someone that Ottawa would want. Regardless of his natural talent. Too many young players he could influence.

The dilemma here is that Ducks want something good in return for Fowler (understandable) but they don't want picks and they can't take on salary without making the point of the trade moot. And for that matter Buffalo can't fit Fowler under the cap without moving out some salary. That Anaheim can't take. So... They're not good trade partners.

But it's going to be interesting to see how Ducks sort this out. My guess is that somewhere down the line a team with cap space and no hope of winning agrees to eat a contract and earn a pick for the trouble. Anaheim keeps Fowler and makes room for Lindholm.

Buffalo will have to live with Franson in the lineup.

Didn't Heatley kill a guy? In a accident? So i think thats a false statement.

Saying he killed a guy is a bit harsh. Heatly was driving too fast and crashed his car, his passenger unfortunately was not wearing a seat belt and passed away.

He was responsible for the death of his team mate Dan Snyder. He plead guilty to 4 of 6 charges. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/dany-heatley-avoids-jail-time-1.556751

When talking about Ottawa avoiding trouble players, they are more referring to the type that cause problems with fans and other team mates.

We had issues with players like Ray Emery in the past where he would be late for practices. Pick fights with team mates. Cause public relations issues by getting into it with fans. He missed a flight cause he crashed into someone.

Ottawa is a small community compared to the other cities in the NHL. You cannot get groceries if you are on the team with out getting recognized. The team needs to avoid players that attract negative attention. Kane is better suited in a market that know one knows him.
