Gustavsson has not been good this season and Matt Murray is out 50% if the time. Need a goalie who can make the saves and play when Murray is (seemingly always) hurt. He's been the best goalie in the organization in the last 2 seasons.

It's a bit too high for my liking, thought they could've re-signed him for a 3x2M type of deal or maybe 2x2M considering this is his first good season.

Like the goalie, if he keeps playing like that then it's a good deal but there's risk.

He’s 16th in the league in GSAA. He’s played well. This contract is for not a lot of money.

Seems like a pretty solid move for Ottawa if you ask me. 29 is not old for a goalie, if he can be a 1B/good 2 over the next three years this is a pretty fine contract and honestly keeps him tradable someday if his good play continues and the Sens want to move on.

I'm happy with this. He's absolutely earned this contract, and it isn't really big enough to become a boat anchor. Was very nervous about a potential Murray/Gus tandem next year.

Love it. Murray is unreliable and hopefully Dorion owns up to his mistake by figuring out how to remove him. Forsberg is the right guy to provide decent "a bit more than normal" backup duties while the team sees who steps up over the next couple seasons.
