Missed the start of the game, meaning I missed Freddie being a stud once again. Also missed the two most dumbf*** baseball "fans" in the world coming close to injuring Mookie. I'm assuming a lifetime ban is incoming at that park?

This whole situation is on Dave Roberts. Casparius clearly didn’t have it yet he sent him out in the second inning and was lucky that inning didn’t turn out disastrously. Hudson also didn’t have it and should have been pulled after Rizzo popped out but he wants to save high leverage guys for tomorrow. This series ends tonight if you throw your best at him. Now we’re possibly looking at facing Cole tomorrow and the series going back to LA. It’s not the philosophy the team should have.

Yeah I hate bullpen games in general, but I understand with all the injuries why they don't have a choice...but you need to step on their necks. The last thing you want to do is give a team any energy or momentum.

Roberts still thinks they are playing in the regular season

The calls aren't going the Dodger's way this game. Need quite the rally in the 9th. Either way, they are going to be tough to beat when the starter rotation kicks back up game 5+.

My hope is that the Yanks got it all out of their system tonight but this doesn’t look good. The Dodgers look bad. Their offense has been horrible the whole series outside of Freddie. The Dodgers had a game like this against the Mets in game 5 but they were also playing a lot better offensively. The Dodgers have had multiple players in their lineup suddenly turn to shit and Ohtani’s shoulder is clearly f***ed. This can become a reverse sweep easier than people think and I don’t think I can stand the insufferability of Yankee fans if they accomplish that or the embarrassment on our end either.

Hitters chasing way out of the zone all night. Don’t bode well if this is how they’re going to approach at bats now.
Apparently Shohei's shoulder injury has affected his batting eye.

Most disturbing to me about last night was they have an entire starting staff on the IL and that they're forced into a bullpen game in the Series. Whatever they're doing in developing their pitchers has to change.

Weird to basically throw away one game....even if you are up 3-0 in the series. Still, once they took the early 3-0 lead in the game, I don't understand not pivoting and trying your best to finish the series off. But Roberts knows better i guess

You would think having a bum shoulder would cause Shohei to be more selective on his swings but it seems like he’s expanding the zone even more. It’s baffling. The chasing way outside the zone last night makes me worry that everyone is in hero mode now trying to finish the series instead of remaining patient and waiting for a pitch to hit like they did at their best.

A) they literally have three starting pitchers because of all the injuries. There’s a huge risk to trying to force all the top guys back out there for the third time in four days with there still being the potential of another game. In other words, there was no guarantee that they win last night even if they ran out higher leverage arms. In fact, it was one of the higher leverage arms that let the game get blown wide open.

B) it was never 3-0 last night.

you just have to hope that Roberts trying to win the war and punting on the battle is the right move. As @Chazz Reinhold points out it IS reasonable, even if it brings up some terrible memories of Roberts management fails and team chokes...but I hope they grow out of hero ball now that the 'sweep' talk is over.

Beating Cole twice in one series would be insanity so I'm not getting my hopes up but hey anything can happen.
