It is pretty crazy. I get not trying to throw deep with a rookie QB who clearly is struggling to read the defence but atleast try and push it 8-9 yards down the field occasionally.

Seems like the Broncos are overconfident in the RB's and weapons being able to make plays. All these short passes look that much worse when nobody can pick up yards after the catch.

Seriously all they need to do is send Sutton deep and see if he can make a play. I doubt the safeties would be anywhere near it, they are all over the short routes

I think that is being too optimistic. The loss of draft capital we gave up for Wilson and then for SP will take a lot of time to recoup. Plus they have to make the right signings of Free agents who has faith that they will.

The FA sigings will definitely be the deciding factor. Payton with his warts, knows how to draft for need.

I agree, wasted years is kind of a poor concept to consider anyways. Where were they going with Lock or some free agent? I think the spot they are in also lies on Elway and lots of bad drafts before he left. Without Wilson the team could have been sold for less and Payton might not have come. This is the rebuilding process that had to happen and probably has one more poor season before it gets better
