Other Sports: Broncos, Nuggets, Rockies etc…Part VII

All college teams in Colorado were so bad a few years ago that it's good what Prime has brought. CSU got better too. Air Force, well their stadium is nice lol. Anything that brings attention is good, anything that gets the alums to open up their pockets is even better

Its not hard to see his value to the sports program just in getting them into a relevant conference with real TV money, earned his deal and then some.

This disrespect for the DU Pioneers will not stand

I always figured he was a 5-7 year guy and then he'd be looking to jump.

Make no mistake, Neon Deon is all about Neon Deon, but I do believe he cares about his legacy as well and would want to stay at CU long enough to leave an impact not just a splash.
Don’t mistake a guy like Dabo Sweeney’s cornpone, salt of the Earth act as humility either.

Deion can recruit which is the biggest thing in college sports.

Oh, I absolutely know he can. That's why I think he wants to have a lasting legacy and won't bail early to the NFL. I think he wants a collegiate fan base that will speak as feverently about him as Alabama and Texas A&M do about the Bear.

He';s a cult of personality, but I actually think he has a sense for his place in history as well. He'll always be a showboat, because that's Neon baby... but I do think he's matured somewhat from the man who was playing football to the man who is coaching it.

He's a showboat and a genuinely good person :)

DU-BC game is gonna be huuuuge tomorrow night

The other side of the frozen four bracket has completely fallen apart. Whoever comes out of DU’s side of the bracket is probably gonna trounce someone in the final.

Western Michigan would like a word.
Oh I’m not discounting them….theyre on DU’s side of the bracket and is gonna be the next tough test if we get thru BC. The other side of the bracket tho is looking like it could go to anybody now that Maine and MSU are out

Yup! I realized as soon as I sent that you said other said of the bracket. My bad.

Yeah losing MSU and Maine has taken a little juice out of the tournament and I hope doesn’t lead to a lot of blowouts.

I think WMU is going to be a really tough out and the BC/DU/WMU victory is going to be a heavy favorite for the natty.

Yeah same - but now I’m super curious who does make it out of the other side. As a DU fan BC scares me because they’re the top team but WMU also scares me because they pretty much owned the pios in the 3rd period and OT a week or so ago. They obviously figured out something on DU in that game.

Unrelated - Im really puzzled why the NCAA does this tournament at the same time as basketball. These games being on ESPN+, ESPNU and ESPN2 really blows.

Yeah its odd timing for sure. I especially hate the two week break after this round. Totally kills the momentum. Not sure why they don't mind going up against the sweet sixteen round of the basketball but baulk at the final four... Either just own that hockey fans will watch regardless or move the whole thing. Also they need to stop playing in empty barns with bad ice. The regional setup is terrible.

As a CC fan and season ticket holder, I am pulling for fellow NCHC teams but would prefer a WMU title. Those two teams were far and away the best teams I saw play this year but would have liked to have seen Arizona State make the tournament.

I typed "Minnesota wins Frozen Four" into an AI generator and fried their servers.

Totally agree on the bad optics of empty seats. It's not like they are filling up buildings, they should play these games early week and not compete with Sweet Sixteen weekend. And why not have home sites as an extra advantage? Playing games in random stadiums that don't always fill up to determine your championship is not a good strategy.

BC controlling the play and spending way too much time in DU’s zone so far.

DU off to the power play after a bad interference penalty on a late hit from BC 200 feet from their own net.

Matt Davis putting on a clinic, keeping BC at bay.

I’m not sure how DU can hang on and win this game if they don’t spend any time controlling the puck. It’s all BC.

And of course DU take the lead 1-0 against the run of play lol

Pohlkamp sneaks in, gets it in the slot from Devine and rips one top corner.

1-0 DU after 20 minutes.
