Other Sports: Broncos, Nuggets, Rockies etc…Part VII

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

The NBA as a whole despises Jokic. They can't stand the fact that he's their best player. They'd much rather it be a more marketable personality in a much bigger market (which is code for "Lakers").
There's definitely some truth to this but that would also render SGA not getting the push he's currently getting from the league. OKC is arguably the smallest market in the entire league.

Fair. I am definitely guilty of generalizing way too much here, but I do think the league just doesn’t like Joker at all.

Audio quality on this Rockies broadcast is pathetic. Goodman doing the broadcast solo and it sounds like he's yelling at a microphone from 1976 from across the room.

Are you guys happy about this?

The Stand is the only King book I've ever read (I did enjoy it). I didn't realize he was a reoccurring character. I might have to check out the Dark Tower next
The Dark Tower is a pretty massive series.....

download.jpg
It's King's magnus opus and basically crosses over with half of his horror writing. It's about the the nexus (the Dark Tower) keeping all universes running smooth failing. As the universes start failing, they blurr together. It crosses over with the Stand, the Dragon's Eyes, Hearts of Atlantis, etc. Like...you read the Stand. Not only is Randall Flag in the Dark Tower series, but the Garbage Man (My life for you!) appears in one of the novels as well. Heck, it has a cross over with the Wizard of Oz.

You don't have to have read Stephen King's other works to enjoy the Dark Tower series. But if you have read the ones that cross-over there will be moments that just blow your mind. Heck... King himself becomes a character in the series at one point. He's the only current day author I know that could pull that off.

Rockies pulling Freeland after 67 pitches. 6 innings, 2 hits, 0 walks, 7 strikeouts.

Send him back out there you p***yes.
Given his injury history I guess I can see why they'd be careful, but yeah, I'd like to see more. Glad he had a good outing at least.

But MLB as a whole is soooooooo cautious with pitchers these days, especially since they now encourage them to put everything they can behind each throw.

Trying to watch this DU/Providence game, and ESPN feed is awful. So herky jerky. Gonna give me a seizure.
That's because ESPN is trying a new AI generated feed based on the play by play guys call.

Just wait until Altitude adopts this and then instead of herky-jerky hockey, we'll be watching videos of large animal vets performing demonic rituals on all sorts of animal guts, spleens what have you, all while legions of pitchforks march by in the background like some macrbe mashup of the brooms in Fantasia and the hammers in Pink Floyd's The Wall movie.

CU Football was a joke and all of the sudden they are as trendy a ticket as the Lakers. That's kind of weird and a little icky as someone who hates Laker culture, but it's also mind boggling that one single head coach can come in and change things to this degree this quickly. That makes a bigger difference in college football than any other organized sport. I don't see how anyone with an actual interest in seeing CU Football do well wouldn't be happy about what Sanders has done to transform the program. If he stays for a bit it has the chance to be the kind of transformation that outlasts his tenure.

I always figured he was a 5-7 year guy and then he'd be looking to jump.

Make no mistake, Neon Deon is all about Neon Deon, but I do believe he cares about his legacy as well and would want to stay at CU long enough to leave an impact not just a splash.

I thought I would never see the day CU prioritize the football program, like the board of regents universally approving the contract football coach never happens.
