OT: Other Sports: Broncos, Nuggets, Rockies etc…Part VII

I was praising him a few months ago but I dunno anymore after I have thought a lot about the Broncos offseason. Yeah he killed it at the combine. He was already projected 15-30 and now he’s probably more so 5-20. It’s amazing that he basically scored a perfect 10 in the combine rankings. And he’d be a 10 at either safety spot or WR. Just crazy combine numbers.

I don’t think the Broncos should go after him though. He very likely will turn out to be a hell of a player but you can acquire a solid safety in FA for $5-10million-ish. The same is gonna be true for the ILB Jihaad Campbell. Both guys are gonna be super pros but S and ILB are just very cheap positions to fill out on the open market. I think we will know a lot about the Broncos direction in the draft based on who they can sign in FA. If they can’t fill S or ILB on the market then both of these guys are definitely going to be in play.

I’m still holding out hope that they get Tyler Warren. I think it’s a stretch tho - Warrens mostly likely gone by 20. But honestly I’d be happy if they traded down at this point. The draft seems like it’s getting pretty deep. Get Mason Taylor at TE in the 2nd, maybe Skattebo in the 3rd and a few more lineman. Avoid Arroyo at all costs - kid is talented but he’s made of glass. Also avoid Fannin - dude is Julius Thomas 2.0.
I would never ever spend a 1st rounder on a safety. Maybe if it was like 31st
I kind of like the idea of having a big safety on a rookie contract while PS2 is getting paid

Nick Emmanwori should be the target with our first.

6-3 Safety who runs a 4.3 40?

Take Nick around Christian Okoye and see if that trigger PTSD.

This was deemed "not a knockdown" because boxing is flagrantly corrupt. Roach landed a jab, Davis took a knee, claimed he had something in his eye, was allowed to let his corner wipe the eye with a towel, and then no knockdown was awarded.

And then, of course, Roach was robbed of his victory on the scorecards. Majority draw. If they'd scored the knockdown, that's a win for Roach. A 9-1 underdog moving up in weight to upset one of the all time cherrypickers. But they robbed the kid blind.

It can be so tiresome being a fan of this sport sometimes, man.

MLB is going to review pardoning Pete Rose again...of course now that he's dead.

Just unbelievable what these committees do to these guys and their families. I don't know why someone dying all of a sudden changes things. It's absolutely cruel.

Pete Rose was a pedophile. They should be pissing on his grave, not considering him for the HOF.

Simmons was just OK this past season. The Broncos let him go at the right time.

Having him back on the cheap? Um, OK maybe. To do what though? Back up Locke?
Hopefully to replace him. Locke was no where near "just OK" last season. Great athlete, but he can't read the plays at an NFL level.

Any of you guys check out the Rugby League at the Deathstar over the weekend?
Watched a little of it on TV. Impressive it got national coverage. I get the difficulty of balancing out authentic announcers versus educating the public but this was an instance where I could see a lot of viewers tune in and then tune out when they had no idea what was going on. Using Aussies to call a match for an American audience almost made it seem like the viewers are thought to be foreign expats? I have worked with Aussies so I'm used to their accent but to average Americans that could have sounded like Greek 🤣
