Too many teams in the playoff.

Can’t believe they had the balls to put SMU in over Alabama.

Problem with that is teams aren’t going to schedule any tough games anymore. Too easy a path to get into playoff if you can just beat up on garbage teams.

LOL.

Look as a Bama fan, I agree they had no business in the playoffs but there are about 6-7 teams in the playoffs that has no business in the playoffs either.

This CFP expansion is absolute garbage. The theory was that it would include the 12 best teams, but this year's version of the playoffs has maybe 3 good teams and 9 mediocre team masquerading as decent teams. Among those 9 are four teams that very few people have any interest in watching play (Indiana, SMU, Boise and Arizona State).

So CFP expansion sucks. It's still of making sure good/great teams are playing for the title, it simply adds more mediocre team into the tournament.

So f**k College Football Playoff expansion. Terrible idea and CFB should be rewarded with the low viewing numbers.

Bama played Wisconsin, Mercer, WKU, and USF in non-con. They didn't get left out because of non-con, they got left out because they got smoked by a 6-6 Oklahoma team and lost to Vanderbilt.

LOL.

LOL. Interest has never been higher and these games will do great numbers. The regular season was more interesting than it's ever been with more teams in meaningful games.

Typical SEC entitlement.

I’m not a Bama fan, and both can be true in that they don’t deserve to have made the playoff and the teams that did aren’t that great or interesting whatsoever.

Alright, Illini vs Gamecocks on New Year’s Eve. Let’s do this thing.

And oh no, the committee didn’t bend over backwards for Alabama for yet another time. Those poor suffering Tide fans…

The SEC is about as watered down as its ever been with the transfer portal and the bloated schedule. After next year Georgia may not play Texas again for years, for example.

Saban blathering on today was the typical SEC crap that isn't the case anymore - that because x team is in the SEC they're better than x team in the ACC or Big-10, etc. Georgia and Texas were the top dogs and look beatable for sure, certainly more so than the GA's and Bamas of a few years ago.

Yeah, more football games to watch is a bad thing 🙄

I’d rather watch less games if it’s great teams vs great teams when it comes to crowning the eventual champ.

Nobody wants to watch SMU, Arizona State, Indiana, or Boise except for their own fans. Even Clemson isn’t that great or interesting to watch these days.

It’s too many teams in the playoff.

You couldn't be more wrong. Fans have been craving a true playoff for decades. The ratings will reflect that.

We will see but IMO it is still too many and teams and it's going to lead to a lot of boring and unwatchable games. I think they should have capped it at 2 byes.

I expect there will be a lot of games like when UGA beat TCU 65-3 in the finals or whatever that score was now that you're including teams like SMU, Arizona State, etc.

A 15 year contract and a $75M bonus is just bonkers and this deal if the opt out isn't exercised will go into his 40s.

Do the Rays, Marlins, Royals, Pirates, or A's even spend that much on their entire payroll?

Between no cap floor, deals like this and Ohtani, the Cubs spending habits... the MLB is almost as dull to me as the NBA is.

Bama's non-conference was Western Kentucky, USF, Mercer, and a 5-7 Big Ten Team (Wisconsin).

They won't be rewarded with low viewing numbers, and they haven't been all year.

I think the 12 team playoff is great, and the fact the there aren't any great teams makes it better. I have an idea of how I think it's gonna go, but I don't know for sure.

But there are no great teams...

And I want to watch those teams.

Was the battle of great teams between Georgia and Texas what you want more of?

Or do you just not like college football?

Yes, I like college football not mediocre college football, which this playoff will be. It would not surprise me if there are better games in the bowls than the playoffs.
