They are going to eliminate umpires judging balks and strikes at Triple A level....using the automatic analyzer ....you know the box it frames for the strike zone and tgat you see uploaded to your to scree showing if apiece truly i nor outside thecstroke zone frame...

It probably gets implemented at MLB level after the experiment at Triple A..

Tgey still need an ump behind home plate to call things lije catcher interference, foot outvof batter's box ,hit batter or hitbbat first issues...etc...

The Bulls remind me of the White Sox. Just mired in mediocrity. Not good enough to compete for a championship and not bad enough to tank for a top pick.

Illini had what looked like could’ve been a rough one, but they gritted out a good win versus Michigan State.

And thank you Lane Kiffin for taking Pete Goul*ing off Saban's hands.

Cubs sign OF/1b Trey Mancini to a 2 year $14 million dollar deal. $7 million more in plate appearances is available. He can opt out after one year.

Juan uribe jr signs with the Sox

Rest of the signings

The club on Monday announced it had agreed to a $700,000 deal with right-hander Luis Reyes, the No. 41 prospect on the international Top 50 Prospects list.

Aside from Reyes, the White Sox, who have a base signing pool of $5,284,000, announced agreements with six other international free agents on Monday: right-hander Denny Lima ($10,000), outfielders Abraham Núñez ($700,000) and Albert Alberto ($50,000) and infielders D’Angelo Tejada ($350,000), Rafael Álvarez ($350,000) and Juan Uribe Jr. ($200,000).

The $ spent is a bit absurd from other teams

Padres gave a 16 yr old nearly $6M

The White Sox still havea bit over $2.4 million unspent for International Signings bonus ...this puts them in a god position to sign some internationals who were not eligible to sign this year until later ...in July...This includes some Cuban talent who escaped the restrictions on Cuban players leaving the island and sobecnotvyet eligible by age players who will be eligible to sign the rules plusxabyvekigibeks from international signibg daycday (Jan 15th) not yet signed whovthey may still have interest in..

Francys Romero tweeted about a talent showcase of prospects in front of scouts from 15 MLB clubs held today (did niot say if White Sox scouts there ...but I assume they were since tge Six have $2.4miliion left to spend) which included his #1prospect from thus group who is Cuban Cesar Yanquiel Hernandez who finally got out of Cuba late in 2022 ..Romero rated the Cuban star from the 2020 u18 team as the top MLB prospect from that team then but he was kept in Cuba till till I think it was October 2022 ...Now I am uncertain if this kid who is 19 years old,may be eligible for signing by the July date Or whether he is just showcasing fior next International Signing Day (Jan 15 ,2024) if that us his first eligible date he can officially be signed...not sure.
However some of the commentary over on Future Sox indicates there are some Cubans who cannot be signed till the date is July when they finally can be eligible to sign ..so I presume Cesar Yanquiel Hernandez (who I think is an outfielder ) is among that group eligible to sign later thus year inJuly ...

Anyway IF he is one of the Cubans eligible to this July then Sox are in good position compared to clubs that already spent all or most of their bonus pool allocation allotment..

Romero mentions sone others at this showcase t before 15 clubs scouts whose ages seem to be between 15 and 20...You cannot sign till you are age 16 ...so whether the 15 year old it turns 16 later this year and can sign then,or is allowed to sign aftercare July signing window opens OR only turns 16vin early January 2024 and must
wait till January 15, to sign....that I do not know.
But all those prospects over16 years old at this showcase havecto be players who can either be signed anytime this year or in sone cases only after the window opening inJuly..

Anyway Sox have bonus $$$ stilltovslendvon 1 or more of the talent showcasing at this event.

So if are disappointed Sox only got tge #41 of top 50 prospects ranked firctfecJan.15,2923 International Signing Day period ,orcdisappiintedcSox divided nitcspebd alk tgeirxalottnentvabdxstill have a whopoing $2.4 tgey coukdchave spent on some top targets other clubs signed, there is hope Sox can land sone of thise only eligible by the July window opening or by as yet unsigned prospects who impress scouts from such showcases being held for mire viewings...

It is a team full of DH's. Lost their best hitter in Abreu to make room for younger guys like Vaughn.

Sheets is a good hitter but butcher in outfield. With Jimenez at DH I am not sure where he will get at bats.
Right field as of now
Losing Abreau sucks but was basically needed forced because of poor roster construction.

On the radio this morning, they asaid they were expecting the rookie prospect to play RF. That would shore up their OF defense along w Bentiendi which was a nightmare year last year.

Wonder if a Cubs trade of Madrigal for Sheets would work but not sure how muchif any trade value Madrigal has any more. Sox still need a 2B.

Not sure sheets would work for the cubs just for the fact of how the cubs have their roster set with hosmer/Mancini and Mervis coming up.
Think Madrigal could be a option in a bullpen for him swap.

I see him as an extra bat. They are lacking in power. But you might be right w Mancini he might not be needed. Not a madrigal fan so trying to get him of fthe roster, can live with him as back up but bat is just too weal to play every day and scared he might see too much time at 3B.

I like Madrigal because he can make contact with the balls admittedly it’s weak contact at times.
