In all the sports I follow you ride the hot hand. Is it different in baseball? Was it because they didn't think he could keep it up that late into the game due to his age? I'm baffled at the move.

He is not flexible when it comes to pitch count and arm statistics and that's not enough to win a WS. You need instinct and know when to ride a hot hand.
