If you didn’t have people like Lebron James and Kevin Durant making a mockery out of the idea of competitive balance, the Nuggets would have plenty to go far.

Not only Durant/James, but I can guarantee you the league desperately wants to see a Boston/LA Final. They could care less about parity

The Nuggets just have to make history and go in the record books as the best NBA Cinderella story ever. I doubt they can do it, but it would be awesome.

If the Rockies didn't get to that hot start, they would've been in running to draft Kumar Rocker again, and that's where it hurts the most.

I don’t follow the Rockies anymore but heard that Arenado basically gave up and now they’re gonna trade him? Is that actually gonna happen?

Do we really want to ruin Kumar Rocker's career?
Fine, I would have settled for ruining Jack Leiter's career instead :sarcasm:

Monfort doesn’t deserve to get a prospect like that.
The same Monforts that actually took care of minor leaguers and staff this year? The fact that you blame him for everything is hilarious. (He's not blameless fwiw)

Maybe do a quick research instead of asking a dumb question like this?

Good run for the Nuggets, but you're gonna need more than Joker and Murray if you want to actually compete for a championship. So many empty possessions and missed open shots.

Please get rid of Milsap.

8/30 from 3. That's just pathetic. Make 4 or 5 if the 22 you missed and you win. Make 4 or 5 of the layups you missed, you win. Just can't shoot like that and expect to win.

LeBron still being this dominant at his age is insane.

Tough to beat a team when Anthony Davis is their 2nd best player. Joker and Murray can compete with the best out there, but the help just isn't there.

I didn't watch, but my cousin is a big fan and he told me that Nugs just have nobody who's a consistent shooter besides Murray - especially beyond the line. But them losing is why the NBA sucks because Lakers is going to win another Championship, so jokes on you to whoever is watching and wasting their time on fog-of-war disabled.

Might be the greatest athlete of all time.
I don't know if that's fair, NBA has a super narrow of actual players who make the pros because the average height to be in the NBA just doesn't line up with any other sport or general society. The country with the tallest people on average is the Netherlands which is averaged at 5'8"...that's the tallest in the entire world yet the average height for an NBA player depends on the position, but the lowest is 6'2" and the tallest is 6'7". I just don't think it's fair to say the greatest athlete of all-time is someone which majority of the world...like 99.9% of the world won't have a chance to ever achieve - even in a small degree.

What I mean by that is Messi at 5'7" and the talent he shows is more superior than LeBron being able to push his way to the paint like the average basketball play is. Messi has to deal with players stronger than him, tougher than him, taller than him, and have the same reaction speed as him, but he's still a step ahead of everyone. Don't tell the football thread that though, I got my reputation on the line there. :sarcasm:

Arenado didn’t give up. He had a serious shoulder injury he tried to play through and it pretty much destroyed his batting, yet he was still an ace third baseman.

This franchise doesn’t deserve players like him. I hope he gets his World Series ring with whoever he lands with.

Milsap will be gone after the season. His option won’t be picked up and the Nuggets will pick up a ton of cap room to do something with. I think Plumlee is done too which I’m more looking forward to. I wouldn’t mind them moving on from Harris, getting a PG like Conley and letting Murray slide over to SG.

What the hell is Melvin Gordon doing ? lol
I think the better question is what the hell is the entire team doing?

I get they are injured, but that was a pathetic effort today. Can't even give one guy props, it was garbage by every single guy that stepped onto the field today. Maybe Rypien gets a slightly better than crap rating. At least he got rid of the ball faster, but still managed to fumble and throw an Int in one drive. So I'm not sure that's much better.

Maybe Shelby Harris?

I have to ask -> when the Broncos hire an offensive coordinator, does it go something like this :

Elway "Welcome coach _____. We look forward to having you as our Offensive Coordinator. I know you must have a lot of ideas but please stick to this... or else!"

Coach ____ "What is this? A manuscript entitled "Denver Broncos Offensive Playbook - Sputtering Production and the Art of the 3 and out"??"

I'm just not seeing much difference between this year and the year before or the year before or the year before that. Is it just me???

No it's the same trash. Elway keeps hiring defensive minded head coaches, that are too arrogant when it comes to defense. Joseph and Fangio both want to win games 13-10 or 10-7 or some garbage like that, which simply isn't a reality in this day and age.

They absolutely don't want the offense to outshine their pride and joy defenses. Those two guys are too proud to let offense win you a game. At least that's how it feels to me. Unfortunately you can't win games that way any more. If you can't put at minimum 24 points on the board you aren't going to win. Fangio is just too stubborn to accept this reality.

Until Elway goes and we hire an offensive minded coach, its going to continue to be ugly. We'll get predictable play calling, and offensive self sabbotage, so Fangio can continue feel good about his defense. I feel like we're back in the Dan Reeves era but this time we don't have a Elway caliber qb to bail out a piss poor coaching staff.
